    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Better wages than other cellphone provider companies or retail jobs
    Ability to make commission

    Cons

Being expected to lie to and harass customers
Having to fight to balance work schedule with school schedule
    Aggressive atmosphere

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be promoted based on actual managerial skills rather than sales numbers. I would advise learning how to actually care about human beings instead of quotas.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people that I worked with I loved them and was sad to leave them knowing that they were all in jeopardy at any given moment with out me standing up for them.

    Cons

Everything about this company was horrible, I left this company after 15years (I Was not fired nor was i endangered of being fired) because of the unethical behavior that was encouraged by upper management. We were told to lie cheat and steal from customers and if the reps were no willing to do that, we "HAD to FIND" a way to get rid of them. I still have the emails and decimation to back up what I am saying here as well. Employees from ASM down were "expendable" They put together ways to fire successful sales reps that made too much $ unless they were a "YES" man. I am so proud that Was able to leave this company and have been in current position for over a year with a company that respects me and is not afraid to say they love GOD there employee and their customers.

    Advice to Management

Please go back to caring about people in general and stop focusing on numbers...Focus on the people and the numbers will come. Help people develop and stop catering to the "YES" people. I know that all the training we got was heard towards what I am saying however after the training classes were over the info was lost and never executed on.

I have been working at AT&T (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Discount on At&t products. Good benefits

    Cons

Pay, work life balance, Management, Customer Service, Way too much outsourcing. Was a directv technician. Got royally screwed in the process. When the director was adresses with my issue she gave a one word answer of "no" without listening. Management is non existent here. Most are home most of the day. When ever you have an issue in the field they are unwilling to help and tell us to deal with it no matter how poor of a decision it is for customer service. Outside us technicians nobody cares about thr customer here. Work life balance sucks here. Constanly changing our shifts and making us work overtime with no notice. Its been 110 heat index alll summer yet they work us like dogs with no relief. Oh. They do have a bonus program but try at every point try to screw you out of that. If you are a field technician forget about other opportunities, they never let you out of the field. The turnover rate is very high as well.

    Advice to Management

Quit. Get some fresh faces in there that might actually care about anything. This is recommended at all levels of management.

    Pros

Excellent salary/pay. Hands on job every day different challenges. Awesome benefits package.

    Cons

Hard to balance work and personal life time. You will work a lot of hours and there is not serious time to end your shift.

    Advice to Management

1st level managers listen to and fix concerns of your techs.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

training was world class. Better than a college degree. Great uniforms provided by lands end. Benefits were fantastic except for health ins which was mediocre.

    Cons

No work/life balance, personalities are put before principals.I was fortunate to be a favored employee so I got many promotions in a short period of time. If I had not been recruited by a district manager who liked me very much, I would never have gotten the promotions. I saw many people passed over for jobs much more qualified than I but my big personality was chosen over others experience and tenure. Training programs have been stripped to a minimum.

    Advice to Management

Put principals before personalities. Work life balance needs to be a priority.

    Pros

    Plenty of overtime available.
    Decent pay and benefits.

    Cons

There is no such thing as work/life balance. You never know what type you are going to be finished every day.
Advancement opportunities are almost non-existent without working many years for the company.
