I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Not sure there are many left

    Cons

Constant cuts to an already slim and extremely productive workforce that has been continually cut for 20 years. Awful morale. Last year's "tax cut bonus" announced by POTUS appeared to have come from raise pools, replacing annual review increases. Speed and lowest cost are king, quality is an afterthought, a bit of balance would be nice.

    Advice to Management

Stop buying external businesses you can't pay for that can't support themselves.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic benefits, company is stable, once you are in you can get by with minimal effort (if that is what you are looking for)

    Cons

Political nightmare, everyone works in silos and primarily focus just on their own needs, very weak sales force with a shockingly low level of knowledge about mobile technology. Middle management will not let you call the emperor naked; if you discuss areas that need to be improved it is often turned back on you as being negative.

    Advice to Management

Need wholesale change to majority of the sales force so you have people that understand the solutions you sell. Things only happen in Dallas, if you don't work there you are treated as an outsider.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good spring board for other employers and careers in sales.

    Cons

Low pay relative to “tech” market, lack of internal resources, etc. Too much middle management. Non existent culture.

    Advice to Management

    There’s a lot to fix.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good insurance benefit and hourly pay. If you do overtime your check looks decent. The company is union base Cwa. Always room to grow within the company.

    Cons

The management team doesn’t acknowledge the frontline employees labor. Most of the “new management” never worked in a retail location therefore they wouldn’t understand the struggle to close a sale. Store managers and assistant managers need better training on basic operations and customer service. This company try to hide behind “ethic sales” in reality it isn’t true. If an employee makes a complaint against management about COBC, that employee becomes a target of mistreatment. The company might seem good from outside but in reality unless you willing to live in AT&T turn around.

    Advice to Management

A leader is a teacher not a dictator. A business isn’t your high school locker room but a place where you divided the personal and the business. Most importantly before hiring new managers try to see beyond the sales.
