I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

AT&T offers great health benefits, paid holidays & vacations. The salary is excellent for managers and craft employees as well.

    Cons

As a retiree your discounts on services is minimal and should be the same as active employees. AT&T is no longer interested in providing voice grade services. Their goal is to become an entertainment business offering only mobility and fiber services. They also desire to move all non-essential work to out of country and out of California. They claim to provide excellent customer service but that is only for the products...

    Advice to Management

AT&T should provide the same discounts to retirees as active employees and give back health care benefits. They should continue to support the copper infrastructure until they sell off the voice services. They need to really get back to REAL customer services for all the products they offer today.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is okay. It is a job.

    Cons

Management is a hell. Bosses and supervisors bully and intimidate everyday. They don’t do their job but blame it on technicians when something happens. They shouldn’t be holding any management positions for the way they run this department. Very unprofessional group of people.

    Advice to Management

Leave and never come back. You are a disgrace to what a management should be.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Pay recently went up.

    Cons

Extremely micro managed. Pressured to work fast. You must cut corners to obtain monthly numbers provided by atnt. Those that do quality work take longer to complete jobs and are then pressured by management to get more done. In time everyone gives in and starts to cut corners to keep management off your back. It really is a tough place to work. Especially if you take pride in doing a good job. Unfortunately you will...

    Advice to Management

It's not there fault. Really level 1and 2 managers are just number pushers. There job really consists of approving time and pressuring techs to work faster. They at some point gave to decide what's more important- having a happy team that gets along or a healthy paycheck....most ,after a year or 2 choose paycheck. And so starts the cat and mouse game. They can't fire you for your numbers but will find something else to...

    Pros

Pay is good. Work from anywhere. Opp for growth within company. Pay raises every year. Good benefits. Overall a great place to work.

    Cons

Not much to say. I love working for this company. They are going through a transition of purchasing companies so they are letting go of employees.

I have been working at AT&T

    Pros

Commission: It is not as competitive as all the other carriers but you can make a decent amount of money. Lots of sales opportunities. There are many different products offered at the store so there are a variety of ways to help/sell to different types of customers. Co-Workers: There are lots of good co-workers and are fun to be around. Good benefits. Union.

    Cons

Pay: The commission structure has changed. Our commission structure is based off meeting 100% of your individual goals and you are now capped at a fixed amount. Your individual goals are set based off the store's goals that are stretched to 125-200%. For example: if the store's goal in a certain metric is 100 and the company has 10 representatives, the representative's goal is not set at 10, like it should, but anywhere...

    Advice to Management

Corporate wants the company to provide great customer service and change their image. However, since upper management has created sometimes unrealistic goals, it puts pressure on lower management and also on front-line employees to overlook the company's vision. Fix that.
