    I worked at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Training. Good Benefits, nice work environment. Straight forward goals and expectations. Good timely follow-up as training proceeds.

    Cons

More emphasis on sales rather than customer service. Upgrade, add-ons, etc. Many customers felt like they weren't being taken care of is they came in with questions after the sale- we were more interested in selling them things rather than ensuring that they knew how to use the devices.

    Advice to Management

Have sales reps designated to be "follow-up/instructional experts" to take care of customers after the sale. It would be great to have each rep do a 2-week follow-up call with buyers to make sure that they are happy with their device and answer any questions they might have.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Pay
Opportunity to grow throughout a VERY large company
    Competitive Environment
    Some truly amazing people
Plenty of Vacation and Time off

    Cons

Difficult to move out of a sales role
    No true “sick days”
Commission Structure changes frequently, but can be easily adjusted to

    Advice to Management

Look into people’s overall skill sets when hiring. Too often someone is promoted based on their sales numbers and not the merits of their leadership skills.

I have been working at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay, the benefits, and colleagues I worked with were great.

    Cons

The systems through which we activate new accounts and installs sometimes fails for no reason, and it would cause some stress on the floor. Attendance was another thing, but not being able to help customers with certain issues myself left them feeling a lot of distrust in our company. There are issues with bundling and other things. The system needs a complete overhaul.

    Advice to Management

I thought management was great. Advice would be to maybe understand a little more that DIRECTV carries such a bad taste in peoples mouths sometimes and it sometimes taints the rest of the conversation. We advertise that we offer it enough, and the sales team already is pushed to sell entertainment services. Understand the RSCs.

    I worked at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible hours
    - Offers 401K at the star
    - Good pay + Commission

    Cons

    - The company is always raising the bar of sales goal while encouraging the customers to do everything online (e.g., upgrades & get services).

    Advice to Management

    - Create surveys in regards to customer needs and wants at the retail level because retail consultants interact with customers on the daily basis and best know what the customers want!

    Pros

Money is great. My coworkers are helpful and upward movement is always a possibility

    Cons

Being short management is unnecessary when you have multiple people who are management material

    Advice to Management

Keep good management in the stores. Otherwise many sales fall threw.

    Great hourly Pay
    Commission
    Health benefits

    Cons

    Advice to Management

If Randall Stephenson can take home upwards of $28 Million, it's only fair to pay your employees consistent wages across the country and and have low cost benefits for both full time and part time employees.
