    I worked at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible hours
    - Offers 401K at the star
    - Good pay + Commission

    Cons

    - The company is always raising the bar of sales goal while encouraging the customers to do everything online (e.g., upgrades & get services).

    Advice to Management

    - Create surveys in regards to customer needs and wants at the retail level because retail consultants interact with customers on the daily basis and best know what the customers want!

  6. "Co-Workers, ASMs and RSMs are great. ARSMs don’t have a clue."

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pay (3 raises a year)
    Vacation
    Co-workers are awesome
    Company pays for clothing

    Cons

    -Sales (always grinding/they’re never satisfied)
-Dealing with authorized retail escalations or coworkers escalations
-ARSMs always on RSMs which are on us
    -Only promote certain demographics
-Life/work balance (You won’t get home until 8/9/10 o’clock most nights so if you have a family, good luck)

    Advice to Management

Go off RSMs recommendations instead of your own.
Quit promoting people just to fill all the demographics. I was passed up 15 times because of my demographic. I was even told by management that I didn’t get a certain job because of my demographic because an ARSM told him that (illegal). They would rather promote a great sales person and horrible coach than a good sales person and great coach- 15x! They would rather promote a 22 year old kid than someone with managerial experience. They promoted someone without interviewing him/her. They promoted someone that left the company for several years (certain demographic) and no loyalty.

My advice to anyone going into sales with AT&T: Use them to better yourself then find something meaningful as retail will destroy your soul as well as make you heartless.

And remember, staying with a company that does these sort of things says more about you as a person than the company- all the reason why I left both as an employee and a customer.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great place to work

    Cons

Ever since DTV was purchased that’s all they care about. They promote people for getting good numbers with fraudulent DTV and ESPECIALLY DTVNOW transactions like management was telling them to do. Then, the employees who work ethically get ridiculous write ups.

    Advice to Management

Speak up to the area managers when they are being unreasonable.
