    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent pay for the economy we're in. The benefits are amazing too. Good paid time off package. Awesome product discounts.

    Cons

The metric system seems designed for the employees to fail. There really is no more rewarding for a job well done. It's more like keeping your job is your reward. God help you if your 2nd level management doesn't like you because it won't matter what your direct manager says...they are just the puppets for the 2nd line.

    Advice to Management

Stop with adding so much unneeded stress! Remember that the techs are the ones that make this stuff work at the end user. We ARE PEOPLE
..not just some number on an MSOC report.

I worked at AT&T as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

I made many professional contacts in the field and gained knowledge of the industry.

    Cons

I never saw my "layoff" coming. I was told I had until sometime in 2014 and I was laid off in 2013.

    Advice to Management

You are cutting too many good employees. And, I'm not sure your early retirement idea is going to benefit the company.
