      Positive Outlook

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

Benefits are good, and people are generally good as well. Pay scale is competitive and generous.

      Cons

Management tends to use "business needs" as a general term to dictate directives about changes or policies. Cronyism within the workplace.

I worked at AT&T for more than a year

      Pros

AT&T is a big company, so there are many career paths to choose from. Also, a lot of available discounts on wireless and wireline products and services.

      Cons

You may have to be willing to relocate in order to find the job you want.

      Advice to Management

Always make developing your employees a primary focus.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Contribution is valued at each and every level. Senior management is transparent to employee, and one can certainly see how the direction a team is going is beneficial to the company and to every employee. In here you can work in a relatively moderate pace, and company value loyalty too. I see other employees serving at 10 years 20 years level. Which means this is the company they chose to retire with. Nice benefit...

      Cons

As for it is already a very large company, individual promotion may be slower than of those start up companies Decision making may not done by the most intelligence person at some point. And you may get project that doesn't make much sense.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Most people are extremely knowledgeable and willing to help. As with anyone there are a few bad apples. 1st line and 2nd line managers are great with years of experience and are mostly willing to work towards a goal that doesn't directly benefit them.

      Cons

3rd level/executive management has been brought in from legacy AT&T/SBC departments and does not understand the work flow or dynamic of the way a NetOps center works. The phrase "in wire line" is used to much to describe how things were done. The ones brought from DSL or Uverse have a better grasp.

      Advice to Management

Listen more before making decisions. You're all certified in Six Sigma, PMP, etc use your training. Make a decision and stick to it within reason. Stop the knee jerk reactions to client demands and create an open working environment that helps the client with out destroying the morale of your workforce.
