I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The TDP program provides more structure and community than most regular jobs out there. Not quite as structured as the military or government jobs, but for a private sector job, it’s closer than not. Most people in this program have engineering majors/background.

    Cons

Graduates of the TDP program should be more inclusive with the active, and provide more rotations to those who elect.

    Advice to Management

This is the negative.... for the past 3 years, AT&T as a company hasn’t done well in terms of revenue.

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

A good place to work with some good tools to do your job.

    Cons

AT&T has forgotten they are a communications company and trying to be an entertainment distribution company.

    Pros

    Good pay, great bonuses, promotions

    Cons

High healthcare deductible, be at the right department, more layoffs coming up.

    Advice to Management

Take good decisions so we don’t go through lay-offs again.

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Pay is decent, benefits are good

    Cons

Absolutely no work life balance, you're penalized if take vacation or time off. You are expected to work 24/7. Goals are unrealistic and roughly 80 % of experts fail to meet them each month. It's glorified door to door sales, while lying to the customer to get in the door.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging your top performers, set realistic goals, and be honest with new hires.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

For the most part, if you have a good manager, able to work independently at a pace that works for you (as long as your numbers are good). Great benefits. Most customers are happy to have you working to get their services installed or repaired.

    Cons

Management can't seem to make up their mind on what to expect from their team. Rules and regulations change on a whim. Work/Life balance is horrible because you never know what time you're going to get off work... sometimes late at night. Wire techs take the blame for anything and everything that can possibly go wrong... (ex. Cable cut by neighbor digging a hole. As a wire technician, we should have been in constant contact...

    Advice to Management

Treat your techs the same way you would expect to be treated. (Up to, and including AT&T Corporate) Stop changing the rules on a weekly basis. Have some consistency.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Starting pay and benefits are better than most companies,

    Cons

Customers are not the priority, there is no oversight or accountability for poor quality work done by technicians that should not be working for ATT which decreases the value of a job done correctly.

    Advice to Management

Upper mgmt should stop micromanaging because they are clueless about what happens in the field.

  10. "Retail Sales Consultant"

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

AMAZING BENEFITS DISCOUNTS, Job security, if you are driven, motivated, and not afraid to come to work to DO YOUR JOB. Laziness, bottomfeeders are not tolerated long. AMAZING Annual award trips.

    Cons

Need to take a more human approach to attendance policies and make it so you're so harshly punished and rack up points when you need to take time off to take care of yourself and your family.

    Advice to Management

Reward more based on performance, lead by example and by action, not by barking on the floor then retreating to your office, and disappearing for hours out of your scheduled work shift.
