I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

great pay, meet all kinds of great people, tons of free or discounted products, tons of relocation potential

    Cons

promotion is mostly based on who you know not what you know, nothing is a problem until you're not wanted there anymore then youre padded with bogus claims, only as good as the month that youre in....if you have a bad month or two you can get fired like you never contributed.

    Advice to Management

take time to learn employees and how they need to be coached, running a tight ship is understandable but talk to your employees with same respect you want.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    - Good pay - Good benefits - Good co-workers - Reps are supported and protected by CWA

    Cons

    - Poor culture that’s more than likely the result from the trickle down communication from upper management - Micro managing of employees by management

    Pros

Able to make a good base pay plus commission. Tuition reimbursement.

    Cons

Questionable leadership approach from the leaders in the Cincinnati market.

    Advice to Management

Teach people to sell the right way.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at AT&T part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Pays better than other jobs in the industry. Great exposure working for a well known company

    Cons

You get vacation days which is nice but as a part time you can’t request off unless you put in vacation for that day. Dealing with rude customers is awful but that’s gonna happen with any retail

    Cons

Can only take up to 8 sick day a year or you are termed

    Advice to Management

    Great management. Remove point system.

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

You are union represented, so your job is secure

    Cons

Commission is being cut every year, and business is slowing down more and more

    Advice to Management

Although you have higher ups pressuring you for more numbers, constant write ups and negative coaching are not the right approach. More training and collective team selling would be better.

I worked at AT&T part-time for more than a year

    Pros

It was really cool working with the latest phones and providing custom solutions to customers. I also like having the opportunity to interact with so many unique people.

    Cons

Management cares about one thing above all else, quotas. Specifically DirecTV sales. I even saw ASMs doing unethical things to make sales. Also, some of the customers that come in can be just plain nasty about something you had nothing to do with. I have plenty of horror stories.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on customer service instead of making sales and do a better job of making employees feel valued and part of a team.
