I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Fun culture. I've worked for the company for 2.5 years and have made so many friends from my time here. I still speak to people I've met in my training and hang out with people who used to work with me. They really know how to hire people who make the day go by much faster.

    Cons

They really expect a lot from you. You are required to sell many different products and services. You need to sell accessories, insurance, home security, satellite TV. You need to make sure to answer all possible questions to keep them from calling customer service. Then on top of all that you need to make sure to get a 9 or 10 from the survey they receive the next day. A lot of pressure.

    Advice to Management

Management has always been good but they tend to forget how it feels to be in our position. They need to remember the stress that the position entails and to remind us if we forget certain things

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people that work there are great. Pay can be really good but can depend on the goals set by upper management.

    Cons

Constantly changing expectations and goals. Scheduling with little regard for a decent work - life balance. Not a lot of opportunities in this market to move up outside of retail.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pay was awesome

Commission structure at the time was uncapped and allowed for a lot of money making.

    Cons

Bottom of totem pole because of seniority made it hard to get off days I needed.

Employees expected to offer Everything to Every customer even if it didn't fit their needs.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the complaints of employees, we don't all complain about the same things for no reason.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is wonderful and you get raises every six months. There is tuition reimbursement and tons and perks. The employee discount is amazing. There are locations all over the country so you can move wherever you want. Honestly if you're willing to work for it there are plenty of opportunities within the company.

    Cons

Wearing a uniform and a name tag is lame. The sales pressure is tough and the commission scale constantly changes in favor of the company and not the employee.

    Advice to Management

    None.

Zero and I mean ZERO work life balance

    Advice to Management

Be truthful, care about your employees not just as robots who earn you money .

I have been working at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good money while in school and part time. Fast paced work environment means it's usually fun and time goes by quickly. New technology and devices are fun to work with.

    Cons

Scheduling is very strict and structured! Very little flexibility and easy to be fired over stupid things like missing 8 days within 12 months because of point system.

    Advice to Management

Problem stems from higher up management not managers directly above you so sales pressure and poor treatment of employees will probably continue until a massive law suit forces the company to change internal culture.
