    I worked at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent Training. Good Benefits, nice work environment. Straight forward goals and expectations. Good timely follow-up as training proceeds.

    Cons

More emphasis on sales rather than customer service. Upgrade, add-ons, etc. Many customers felt like they weren't being taken care of is they came in with questions after the sale- we were more interested in selling them things rather than ensuring that they knew how to use the devices.

    Advice to Management

Have sales reps designated to be "follow-up/instructional experts" to take care of customers after the sale. It would be great to have each rep do a 2-week follow-up call with buyers to make sure that they are happy with their device and answer any questions they might have.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good benefits, I was very honored to work with such great teams on both upper management and co workers.
    Great pay.

    Cons

Work-Life balance, the amount of changes happening all at once.

    Advice to Management

Comunicate how the many changes are burning out employees.
I understand the company’s vision to be more than a cellphone provider but ultimately its backfiring since there’s no clear support when issues with the home services happen.
There’s a huge disconnect between retail and installers and also customer service.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are a lot of opportunities here, especially for those who are comfortable with faster paced environments and have sales experience.

    Cons

Some of the most aggressive sales initiatives exist in this company, which provides growth, but also strains an enormous amount of pressure.

    Advice to Management

On the lower levels, like store manager level, managers are placed under an unreasonable amount of pressure causing them in turn to place an unreasonable amount of stress on reps to perform. While this is made to drive growth in the business, it is untenable in terms of moral and mental health for the reps and managers involved.

    I worked at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great money if you put in the effort to drive your sales and can build relationships with customers.

    Cons

Depending on your team there can be severe lack of consistency from management and coworkers. Promotions are based on sales numbers not always qualifications.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent based on location. It’s a great place to work for part timers who want good pay while going to school. Fun working environment and most coworkers are superfriendly.

    Cons

Not much opportunity for promotion in area unless willing relocate quite a bit. Micro-management by assistant managers can get annoying at times.

    Advice to Management

Assistant managers need to have the same mindset as friendly expert of “I can help you attitude” because ultimately it’s the the customers and the workforce that make the company.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Lots of corporate perks, including discount on mobile and home services.
-Competitive pay as compared to similar inside sales roles.
    - 401k contribution

    Cons

    -Opportunity for advancement is scant.
-In my state, a promotion to any kind of management meant leaving the "safety" of the union. Because of this, managers were barely (if at all) compensated more than sales consultants, meaning that a promotion meant less job security, a minimal (again, if any) raise, and the potential to be relocated to any other store in the area by upper management (often adding commute time). This resulted in under-qualified and under-experienced employees being promoted to management with the best management candidates going stagnant in their roles as consultants.
    - While you should expect an aggressive sales goals in this role, it was not uncommon for goals to be set unrealistically high.
    - Very poor work-life balance under the rigid attendance and PTO policy. (I understand marginal changes to this were made during the last union contract negotiation, but from my understanding it is still quite rigid.)
    - Essentially, remember that as an employee with this company, you are a number that can always be replaced with a lower number.

    Advice to Management

Sales consultants are the "face" of your company and many of them are terribly underutilized and disincentivized to move vertically. Take care of them and they will take care of your customers. Also, stop sending good jobs oversees.

    Cons
