I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good, pay is good, commission structure for the most part is good

    Cons

Depending where you work upper management can be frustrating with their goals. In store managers are great. ATT Is moving towards being a premium video company and not a cell phone company, upper management sometimes has unrealistic goals but that is with every company

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay was pretty great especially compared to other jobs and with a lack of previous experience, I considered myself pretty fortunate.
Good benefits 401k, pension, health insurance, 50% bill discount and on in store items.

    Cons

Extreme amount of pressure to meet sales goals, even if they're unrealistic.
While the pay was good it slowly decreased over the years, while the workload INCREASED quite a bit.
A lot of deceit, cheating and lying going on to make it ahead.

    Pros

Pay is great, customer interaction can be fun

    Cons

Worst company to work for ever. They would go as far as to convince you to commit self-harm if it meant you didn't work there while not hitting sales numbers

    Advice to Management

    Be better people

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very Good benefits package, face to face interactions with customer, base pay plus commission, amazing 401k benefits, and great PTO

    Cons

Horrible management, even worse area managers, managers also dont get paid unless the stores hit 50% of their goals as a team which can lead to some very uncomfortable micromanaging, and can cause people to get written up for very small things (not greeting a customer by the time they hit the door mat) . Daily i would listen to managers talk to employees as if they were less than, calling them names and taunting them for not meeting sales goals. not a very professional company. not much room for advancement. high school environment. VERY STRESSFUL. NO SICK DAYS. Commissions are lowered every year. when I started 3 years ago I would gross at around 3000$. in 2017 my highest check was about 1700$ with surpassing all of my goals. Work every weekend (best days to make money are saturday and sunday.)

    Advice to Management

Instead of discouraging employees for not meeting sales quotas possibly show them how they can improve, motivate them. After all you need them to get paid, so act like it.

    Pros

Good pay and insurance so of the best in the business. 401k with company match. Good customer base that depends on AT&T to do what’s right.

    Cons

Management doesn’t seem to care. AT&Ts total focus has been shifted to DirecTV. So much to the fact the wireless side of the company is taking a huge hit. They just don’t seem to care about cell service, customer service or the employee anymore. In retail if your not selling a Television service to every single customer you’re a failure. Management is very shady. They will say anything to a customer to get a sale and not care whether it’s true or not. Even after getting Union rep and HR involved higher ups don’t seem to care.

    Advice to Management

Take some responsibility for the dummies you put in management. They are horrible.

I have been working at AT&T part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

AT&T is a great company to work for. The culture is very friendly and management is your biggest cheerleader. They follow path-goal leadership. The reward is there and they’ll layout the path for you. They help you grow and get you where you want to be. I develop my soft skills everyday. I am PT right now and get benefits, 401K. The culture is great and the people are awesome. They really work with you if you’re attending school still.

    Cons

Possible challenges are meeting monthly goals, just like anything else, some months are good others you struggle. Nothing to complain about though

    Advice to Management

Keep giving us the platform we need to thrive.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent pay for lower levels of education.

    Cons

Never advance from retail. Almost impossible. Never make more money. Every time your hourly raises your commission decreases. Does not keep up with inflation.

    Advice to Management

When you pay for a degree give them a chance to get a new position at the company. Stop pushing surplus priority for job acquisition. Hire based off talent, not yes men.
