    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great vacation length, competitive hourly

    Cons

Not real advancement unless willing to relocate, directv sickness fever, paycuts getting worst on commission. Worst if got into management ... if you are a top sales rep, a pay cut will happen.

    Advice to Management

There is no real management development program. Cannot really rate quality of management if many of those retail store supervisors are 22 or 23 year old. Noting against young leaders but you can’t simply expect them to lead a team without proper training nor a clear idea/knowledge of leadership concepts . Unless you are willing to bounce from city to city, county to county, state to state you won’t get far in this company. If you desire a place to growth professionally, unless you are in a big metropolitan area This is not the job for you. If you don’t care about doing the same thing over and over and being told you have to sell and sell directv to everyone and phone accessories that are 10 Times (no joke, in some cases that’s how ridiculous is the difference) the price compared to online, this is the right place for you .

    I worked at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent salary and benefits. Employee discounts on merchandise.

    Cons

As a new employee you had to work nights and weekends.

    Advice to Management

Allow weekend rotation with all employees - not just the new people.

I have been working at AT&T part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    there are absolutely no pros

    Cons

The management was crappy, they did not care about you only cared about money and numbers. OH I forgot about the favoritism and how about the assistant manager would allow people to lie about Direct tv now. They let the employees lie to customers and basically take their money just to have better numbers. While I was there There was one person who took a gift from a customer. Never was fired. There were people continuously late but their points were wiped out but if I needed a day off it was an issue. Also the schedule was never done and changed randomly. When I ask about it the answer was "You have to check every day"....What type of crap is that ?? It was totally unprofessional and IS 1000000000% terrible.

    Advice to Management

To the managers of the store managers please review cameras and please listen to the employees when they are going through something because the way things are being done you can get a law suit.

    Pros

Honestly, nothing except your co-workers and the company has a good 401k plan.

    Cons

Commission has decreased year after year with higher expectations. Highly encourage lying to customers to meet sales goals.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits. Fast work environment and you will make tons of friends. Always something going on and you make great money for retail.

    Cons

The management will be on you 24/7 talking about every little metric you are or aren't hitting, it becomes exhausting with everything you have to do. It feels like you are being spied on with every customer you have, almost uncomfortable to sell to customers.

    Advice to Management

Let people sell and train them to sell, not just micro manage to the point your reps dont feel comfortable.

job title and responsibilities varied too often

    I worked at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing. This company could have been alright to work for but they ask their stores to do shady things and my manager would have us access customer accounts without them in store with a government issued ID.

    Cons

    Poor management
Manager took their own sales while being paid a salary
    Not worth the money
    AT&T has poor coverage

    Advice to Management

Don't make someone a manager just because they've been with the company for 2 years. Just because they're an ok sales rep does not mean they have good leadership skills.
