    Pros

Salary, challenging career, variety, access to senior leadership, large company with many different functions. Constantly reinventing itself, with purchases of direct tv and time warner

    Cons

Long Hours, no work life balance, lack promotions, do what I say, not what I do. Management out of touch with reality.

    Advice to Management

    Remember where you came from...

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working in my field of technology and comoany benefits. (Ex. Health, 401k, discount, supplies, and uniforms.)

    Cons

1st line-up 3rd line management. Tgere has been no change in the supposed
Iniative to create a better culture. It is heavily biased against leaders whom they don't like, usually African American. Management stresses production over quality, leaving the customers with terrible experiences. Main reason why At&t contracts some of the work out now.

    Advice to Management

Pick better managers, train the right techs to become management,(not someone from a completely different department), stop the targeting of individuals and harrassment. It doesn't make for a good place to work at all.

    I worked at AT&T full-time

    Pros

    Good benefits negotiated by union

    Cons

Too big to care. Bosses changed so often and hiring freeze made things worse. No boss within our own office on several days of the week. We were eventually laid off.

    Advice to Management

Have an HR rep present to help laid off employees transition to their next phase. Also, never got anything in writing to state that we were laid off, which makes things hard to get unemployment and healthcare afterward

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Bonus if can put up with the environment.

    Cons

Don't know where to start just too many to list. They are good at surplus letters. If you can suck up to your manager and act like a jerk and put your co workers down at meetings and talk like you know what you are doing and never admit you are wrong you can survive (oh yeah being related and knowing someone counts too). Don't really see much of a future for the company with the current management mentality. They could not help make money mostly because of the people who buy cell phones. They would be bankrupt if it wasn't for cell phones. They can't even do cell phones correctly. They put all their apps on their cell phones that are nothing but a waste of time and space. Oh yeah and watch your cell phone bills for erroneous charges. The former CEO of the wireless division got a golden parachute after they lost a case for fraudulent charges.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring so many employees and use what you got. Stop trying to get rid of people with pensions. Stop breaking your own business code of conduct.

  10. "Terrible to employees"

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    The employee discounts are nice.

    Cons

Poor employee treatment. Constant highering freezes. Large shift towards part time employees. Mobility service is degrading. Unreasonable scheduling practices. Being left as a manager on duty without compensation. Constant threats of termination. Unrealistic expectations of numerous sales pitches forced upon customers. Inflexibility in scheduling employees trying to attend classes to further their education.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to your frontline employees and customers, they’re EAGER to tell you what you’re doing wrong!
