I have been working at AT&T as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You are working for a Fortune 10 dinosaur, I mean, company. That looks really good on the resume to anyone that hasn't worked for AT&T before

    Cons

This place is super corporate and super political (ask Trump or the FCC, or any group in the government you usually see their name tied to). It's also political internally, and there is very low company morale since leadership doesn't have a clear vision.

    Advice to Management

Stop being reactionary. Fire yourselves before you take the entire company with you.

    I worked at AT&T full-time

    Pros

The best part of working here was the co-employees were helpful and funny.

    Cons

A lot of strict breaks and lunches.

    Advice to Management

    Please allow employees more freedom.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Potentially good pay-Hourly+Commision
    -Discounted service/Employee discount
-Schedule done by seniority. Longer you are with company better chance you have at getting a schedule you desire.
    -Paid holidays
-Work cell phone to keep personal and work cellphone calls separate
-Decent benefits- Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k

    Cons

-Company has gone a different direction and has switched from customer satisfaction to hard selling. Could be by area though , some markets might not be as bad. AT&T wanted to make sells but cared about the customers needs in finding solutions for them. Now they only care about DTV sales and doing whatever it takes to get them. If a company is worried about hard selling products then you could do better at other sales jobs and just skip applying for AT&T.
-Caliber of managers are inconsistent, typical retail enviroment
-If you have any emergencies they do little to help you, attendance is strict and unforgiving
-In store management have no power so they can do nothing to help customers really if a big issue arises. Have to wait on the out of store upper management to take care of the customer
-Little to no tools to help a customer with big issues. If it isn't selling a product it is difficult to assist the customer quickly and effiecently
-Hours and days off can be all over the place when you are new and takes at least a year or more in order to start to get a decent say in schedule. Seniority based.
-AT&T Mobility has been and is going to be continuing down sizing retail locations. Due to this job opportunity's will diminish on the store front while they are converted to 3rd party retailers and not directly managed by AT&T. Little to no future with AT&T owned retail stores.
-Phone options are pretty small now so if you are planning to work you need to be in the mindset of selling tv services not phones services.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get a fairly good check as a technician that installs and troubleshoots AT&T's faulty equipment.

    Cons

The blame is on the wire tech for whatever goes wrong with AT&T's cabling or equipment. Managers are there to find fault in the techs and reasons to complicate a simple job. I got wrote up for parking my van closer to a customer's house, instead of the curb 200ft at the end of the driveway. It's silly things like that you deal with everday. Prepare to be highly stressed and under the worst kind of company nonsense in your life. No life and no family time. You'll begin to feel like a stranger at home, as you come home after dark everyday. This job will make you age prematurely and drain your soul.

    Advice to Management

Really listen to your techs and rally up with your upper managers to reorganize all of this nonsense. You all know it's ridiculous and can't deny that AT&T has a way of dropping the ball. Do you really enjoy being disliked?

    I have been working at AT&T full-time

    Pros

High income potential for sales people with little to no experience or education.

    Cons

Company is not interested in caring for the individual. Very strict and unreasonable attendance policy. Every year the company restructures with their bottom line in mind and nothing else. Benefits are sub par.

    I have been working at AT&T full-time

    Pros

Good upper mgt but middle mgt is "clickish" and decisions are not always based on merit

    Cons

Lots of issues and unfairness impacting valuable employees

    Advice to Management

Peel back the onion on how middle mgt is contributing to the organization...you will be surprised how non-productive they are and lean on lower mgt to do their work

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tuition Reimbursement, Training Opportunities, Summit Awards & Summit recognition. Benefits are available after a long waiting period however they’re average as most other companies at best.

    Cons

Company isn’t “fun” anymore. Overhead sales pressure to achieve unrealistic goals. Downsizing and massive layoffs underway as COR stores shift to Authorized Dealers. Employment security is non-existent even for the top performers. Actively seeking alternative companies to work for before I receive my surplus notice. It’s a shame to feel this way, I thought I would retire with AT&T, now I worry if I’ll have a job through the next twelve months.

    Advice to Management

Advice falls on deaf ears. Be prepared for mass exodus for COR retail management before surpluses come.
