I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Innovative, but slow paced leadership, old-school management style, global disruption

    Cons

Current division is slow to adopt the new open source leadership style that is currently in deployment among many other hi-tech companies, like Google, fb and others.

    Advice to Management

Read the cons, send some folks to burning man, open the table to level Management style.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is always something exciting happening. Management is taking some bold steps and is poised to make a big splash in the marketplace. There is training for pretty much anything under the sun. Compensation is pretty decent as well.

    Cons

Need to be in the right group. Too much dependency on vendors to help achieve business and IT goals, and they invariably fall short of expectations. Message is clear that unless people change, they are going to be left behind. The change is very loosely defined.

    Advice to Management

Frequent org changes makes it difficult to settle down and give your best. Goals need to be realistic and should have support right from the top. Many departments have goals that are conflicting and come in the way of achieving overall success.

Great employees benefits with wireless, tv, and internet products, healthcare, education reimbursement, 401K. Countless organizations to work within. Always a lot of work to do.

    Cons

They are always streamlining, cutting jobs, under compensating employees, their salaries are not competitive with other companies. Yearly raises are very minimal.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good vacation time, good benefits and discounts, team atmosphere, meeting cool people daily, making a family from coworkers, 2 days off per week guaranteed, not much overtime

    Cons

Intense sales pressure, un- realistic goals for markets, pay isn't worth the stress from customers and management, unless you can exceed goals for commission, or you have been there for many years and make more per hour..
