I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies.

Support for women in technical leadership roles.

Pride in diversity & inclusion with 12 Employee Resource Groups with 40k+ members.

Great benefits including 4+ weeks vacation, 6% salary match of 401k, paid maternity/paternity leave, financial support for adoption.

Flexibility to work from home or office in newly renovated collaboration zones.

Lots of opportunity to move around the company & work on new products.

    Cons

Process heavy with lots of administrative overhead.

    Advice to Management

Love the technology talks from ATO collaboration zones.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pay, Training, Different everyday, Benefits

    Cons

    Micromanagement, unnecessary rules, toxic environment

    Advice to Management

This would be a fantastic job if it weren't for the constant nitpicking and micro-management that goes on through the IEFS organization. Supposedly the company has been striving to improve the culture of IEFS, but management is definitely resistant to improving themselves. There's plenty of talk about how the company is changing but no follow-through. What ends up happening is our technicians end up feeling like they aren't empowered to make their own decisions, we aren't comfortable having open discussions with management, and our creativity/spirit is ultimately dampened due to irrelevant compliance rules. My advice to management is to seriously work on improving the culture by either replacing current management with better leadership skills or working with current management to ensure they aren't treating us like we are children, but rather we are one team towards one goal which is to make sure our customers are satisfied. This isn't possible if our own employees don't have a good environment. Another change that is needed is the fact we are stuck in our positions if we wanted a lateral move for several years.

I have been working at AT&T as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Its a job that pays the bills and that is about all I can say about this company. I honestly cannot think of any other Pros for working here.

    Cons

Working in a windowless building is depressing. Working in areas I am not trained in is frustrating, yet they continually try to make me do things I am not qualified to do and they just call it a challenge.

AT&T contractors do not get PTO or Sick Days or Holidays. Yet we do the exact same work as employees and work the same hours. As a contractor with AT&T you must accept the fact that your contract can be eliminated with very little notice.

    Advice to Management

Treat your contractors like employees! Advertise positions correctly based on what the worker will be actually doing. Managers need to work on location so that they are accessible...manager that work remote are respected less.

    I have been working at AT&T full-time

    Pros

Many good people. Just good enough wages and benefits to keep people around. A good deal of vacation days.

    Cons

As with nearly any very large corporation, very bureaucratic. And once you advance to a certain level, it is very difficult to advance further without the correct contacts.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people instead of outside consultants.

I have been working at AT&T as an intern

    Pros

Good pay, Cab facility, Open cabin Culture, Friendly Team Leads

    Cons

Worst work culture - no team outings, pantry food is not upto the mark; work facility is low standard - no gym, event hall; All work no play attitude; Team Attitude: Need to ask for permission to have lunch/dinner break, questioned about leaves, burdened with tasks, fake show that management cares for all. Too much work pressure and the management provides no aid to make our lives easier. Only employees who butter the managers have an impression that they work while others who actually do the work are thought to be passing the time.

    Advice to Management

Please try to uphold the work culture and facility management of AT&T like how it is in The States, if not, atleast try to provide basic facilities.
