I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The job is pretty rewarding, discounts on all products and monthly bonuses if metrics are met, you develop great relationships with fellow technicians. Benefits and compensations are very good. So far this company has taken care of me.

    Cons

Upper management is completely disconnected to their technicians. its basically white collar vs blue collar, especially since a union is involved. Management needs a makeover. To much corporate political drama. Company in really congested when it comes to its work force, pretty much impossible to move up in the ranks

    Advice to Management

Make an effort to be able to trust your technicians since we pay your salary.

    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits. Dynamic work environment, great for those that champion change. High paced work environment full of daily challenges.

    Advice to Management

Value more tenure, experience and loyalty

    Pros

Guaranteed hourly rate plus commission, plus benefits.

    Cons

High sales goals in store and less customers since majority of purchases are online. Need to be aggressive with a decrease in customer base.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment, great colleagues, unbelievable wealth of information at your fingertips, prominent brand, above average compensation when everything is considered

    Cons

Very SSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWW to change, extra bureaucratic (think 300K+ employees), very slim opportunity for growth, decisions made in stratosphere with tons of (unnecessary) management layer between the decision makers and the actual do'ers

    Advice to Management

Have some guts and cut down the org chart. you have too many middle management layers filled with dinosaurs who add ZERO to the productivity of the company.
Also, Dallas is NOT the center of the universe. You are losing big on talent and dynamic buy chasing real estate and municipality tax benefits and forcing the world to come to Dallas. forget the SBC mentality, it is a new era already!

    Pros

Tremendous growth opportunity if you're in the right place.

    Cons

It is easy to get lost in the shuffle of reorgs. Trying to keep ahead of the surplus and manage career growth is difficult.

    Advice to Management

Figure out a way to not surplus high performing leaders. You are letting talent get away from you.
