I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I would say the biggest pros we have here at AT&T are the benefits, compensation, leadership, and the amount of opportunities that are given for you to take advantage of. The diversity within the company, tells me that we are a company that leads pride, and a goal of never ending success.

    Cons

Although, sometimes the hours are not what you want, because the shifts are based on seniority, the more you work and the harder you work, the hours honestly don't mean a whole lot when you are making the money you need.

    Advice to Management

Any advice I could give to management is to always be sure that we are more of a coach. Always help someone turn into a leader when they think they couldn't be one. Push someone past their limits to succeed, but don't push them away. Don't just manage....LEAD!

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers. Interesting work. Learned so much about the business.

    Cons

Long hours. Favoritism at times. Forced to sell the "flavor of the month" to customers.

    Advice to Management

Keep the people who work the hardest for you. Letting 3,000 employees go and calling them "surplus" is a slap in the face.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great discounts on tv and phone service.

    Cons

Management treats you like your just a number. They don't care about employee retention or your well being at all, as long as your numbers are good. Lots of playing favorites and letting some employees slide while others get reprimanded. Have an impossible attendance policy.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

No pros if you work for at&t ( directv) in-house you get everything from material tools and work van it's ok in that part but management sucks and they track every move you do true gps don't try nothing smart in the first 90 days they will fire you for the smallest thing. In the other side as a subcontractor don't go that route it's not worth antibodies time it depends on the sun company you work for if you get paid piece work or hourly neither are good If You're By Piece Work You re Still have to clock in and out and take a lunch by force or they will take you're jobs away specially on slow days

    Cons

Horrible pay and they stress you out on the daily. If you work as a sub doing directv you're not working for at&t anymore you work for Qhalsat this company is out gor the money they can get from you they don't trust anybody if you need to cancel or put on hold a job they give you the hardest time to do so. They do live Qc's and the people that they hire are just the horrible at there job they hired people that have not been in the business before or have done it 5 to 10 years ago they come up with new stuff on a weekly sometime in a daily basis on how to do the jobs just to fail you and put you down for days. If you fail a Qc they will suspend you for 3 days the first time no warning. The pay it trash it depends on the sub contractor but the highest paying one it's at 40/12 + miles you're not a contractor anymore you're a employee now. Don't expect this company to show you respect even if you spend 10 years in the business

    Advice to Management

Advise to management is. let go of Qhalsat there making things really bad for techs if you want to keep you're subs you need to get rid of Qhalsat asap there squeesing everything out of there sub techs almost to the braking point. Another thing take care of you're customers don't make them wait for hours on the phone and still get the order wrong. Keep customer service in the states this stuff of outsourcing you're customer service don't work because there's a language issue if they don't understand you they won't get you're order right. But please let Qhalsat go there destroying everybody around them because they want to bring there own techs not hire subs. Not good for thousands of techs

    Pros

Large company with lots of opportunities
    Flexible work life balance
    Great access to training resources

    Cons

Lot of processes and people slow down product development. Its common to be on calls with 20+ participants where only a small subset are really involved.
Work can be technically non-challenging as vendors do the implementation
No stock grants below Director level
Frequent layoffs - Last in First Out

    Pros

Some of the best health and employee benefits! Discounts on cell phone and Direct Tv service is a huge plus.

    Cons

Paid Time Off is hard to accumulate in comparison with other companies. Work Life Balance is a struggle. Advancement in company is based on favoritism in most cases.
