I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you sell what the company wants then you will have the potential to make a lot of money. Starting salary is good plus you get commission.

    Cons

Long hour shifts and sick/point system sucks. The goals get stressful at times and they are usually higher than wanted.

    Advice to Management

    More realistic goals.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Technology, great coworkers, seniority leads to better work/life balance, deep service discounts

    Cons

New hire work/life balance is non existent, upper management expectations are laughably unrealistic at times, high stress and increasingly low reward

    Advice to Management

Be more open to suggestions from workforce. Be more competitive and proactive to trends of the industry instead of complacent and reactive.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

AT&T compensates well for what we do. Products are easy to sell because the customers come in wanting them.
AT&T coaches selling behaviors, not numbers. As long as you're offering, and trying, management will help you learn to sell.

    Cons

There are a lot of metrics to hit every month, you have to learn to balance selling a lot of different products.
The attendance policy is abhorrent. There are no "sick days". You get a good amount of PTO, but if you have a family emergency, or get sick and have to call in to work you get a discipline "point". After 4 points in a year period you get put on discipline, after 8 you get terminated.
For people that have families, AT&T's attendance policy is not friendly too you. Be prepared to work long, weird, retail hours.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At&t tends to pay more than an average company for the same position.

    Decent health care options.

Very good educational support. At&t strongly encourages there employee's to continue there education.

    Cons

Dose not always move fast enough on internal work place issues.

Due to At&t's size. If you need support from multiple departments communication tends to break down.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learning techniques, sales incentives, flexible hours, lots of pto, great benefits, great vacation pay, and the fact that we still have a union.

    Cons

Commission has been cut down, micromanaging, goals are too high, hard to make sales quota, coaching if goals are not met.

    Advice to Management

Make the place a fun place to work

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Pay. Insurance. 401k. Discounts. Excellent Training. Union represented company. Many different services to offer so it’s easier to get customers to leave with something.

    Cons

Management politics. Store managers and Area manager think they can do anything they want w/o repercussion. Corporate is always changing the commission structure or goals to make it harder to reach your commission.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. If you employees aren’t happy with their jobs then the will trickle all the way down to customers.

Good pay... discount on your cell phone bill and your directv bill... there are no other benefits it is only a good plave to work of you are a robot

    Cons

Micromanagement, pay declines as goals increase, bad hours. They expect you to work harder every month while they pay you less and less for what you do.

    Advice to Management

Make goals realistic and stop asking your employees to make you more money while you cut their pay.
