I have been working at AT&T full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Team work. Atmosphere. Money. Company. Great benefits. Good training. The company is a fortune 10 company and treads its workers as such.

    Cons

They sales reps are expected to sale everything in entertainment. So not only are you worried about phones but also have to worry about directv.

    Advice to Management

We bought directv and are expected to churn them out. Focus more on costumer relations.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits
We are able to work with the union
    Nice atmosphere
    Pay raises

    Cons

Quality of calls for a sales environment are challenging.

    Advice to Management

Go above and beyond for your employees. If you notice they are not meeting metrics go over calls with them to see how they can improve.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, great vacation length, competitive hourly

    Cons

Not real advancement unless willing to relocate, directv sickness fever, paycuts getting worst on commission. Worst if got into management ... if you are a top sales rep, a pay cut will happen.

    Advice to Management

There is no real management development program. Cannot really rate quality of management if many of those retail store supervisors are 22 or 23 year old. Noting against young leaders but you can’t simply expect them to lead a team without proper training nor a clear idea/knowledge of leadership concepts . Unless you are willing to bounce from city to city, county to county, state to state you won’t get far in this company. If you desire a place to growth professionally, unless you are in a big metropolitan area This is not the job for you. If you don’t care about doing the same thing over and over and being told you have to sell and sell directv to everyone and phone accessories that are 10 Times (no joke, in some cases that’s how ridiculous is the difference) the price compared to online, this is the right place for you .

I have been working at AT&T part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

great sells experience , AT&T has a great work environment and open commutation with superiors if you need assistance

    Cons

little training and development programs, my personally experience is that sales representatives management team is constantly change and never has the ability settle on a set team

    Advice to Management

personally recommendations would be to stop changing managers so often and allow for so familiarity and chemistry to form, just as one manager gets traction the switch them out .

    Pros

The money is ok. You get PTO that guarantees you to have off certain times. It’s a union position so raises are guaranteed.

    Cons

No job security and no work life balance at all. Managers seem to have no idea of what they are doing and don’t care about the people at all.

    Advice to Management

    Care about your people.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You get a chair to sit in for 30% of your time at work. Are allowed to use the bathroom at least 3x a day and use the drinking fountain if you get thirsty.

    Cons

Very difficult to move up since 80% of managers grew through the sales ranks and unless you were friends with them it's almost impossible to move up. So many of my co-workers have quit over the past 5 years due to the complete disrespect for our position. We are basically the lowest paid workers within AT&Ts corporate structure and instead of helping us to grow they have fired and taken away our workloads to the point were many of us feel unwanted and need to quit so we can have some respect for ourselves again.

    Advice to Management

Realize that you make 80% more than we do and most of us are treated like garbage no matter how much we try to protect your backs from CPNI errors and mismanagement of company funds.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Guaranteed hours, schedule created month in advance

    Cons

Scheduling based on seniority, sales goals and company objectives change frequently and performance is based solely on your ability to sell, very pushy sales tactics, point system for attendance

    Advice to Management

Bring the human element back into the work place, value work ethic, timing and attendance, celebrate to elevate, stop using scare tactics to get employees to perform
