    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits are fantastic - both product discounts and healthcare. The pay is decent unless you are in a non-customer facing or support job.

    Cons

Constant purchasing of other companies creates a never-ending cycle of layoffs and "surplus." Those of us with more than 15 years service were the first to go, regardless of position or performance. If you are over 40, don't bother.

    Advice to Management

Youth is not the answer to everything just because they cost less. Retain some of the wireline employees. Bring the ordering centers back to the United States. Contract workers are not good for every department.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Guaranteed hours, schedule created month in advance

    Cons

Scheduling based on seniority, sales goals and company objectives change frequently and performance is based solely on your ability to sell, very pushy sales tactics, point system for attendance

    Advice to Management

Bring the human element back into the work place, value work ethic, timing and attendance, celebrate to elevate, stop using scare tactics to get employees to perform

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary, benefits for people who are highly skilled.

    Cons

I was pushed out after 21 years, laid off. They were supposed to give you 90 days to find another position within the company, which was a joke. All the jobs were cancelled so they wouldn’t have to keep anyone on payroll. They want cheap labor.

    Advice to Management

It’s a sad state of affairs. Cut throat work environment & no one cares about the people. Not sure how you can sleep at night. Greed rules st AT&T.

I have been working at AT&T (More than a year)

    Pros

You work on your own. As long as you do good work, quality, and meet up your numbers (2 installs 2 repairs) you should be ok.

    Cons

Politics, problems with orders. Scope of work feels unreachable at times. Contract negotiations that the union leave behind that affect our work and our wage pay. Going on strike. Customers being rude. Suspensions.

    Advice to Management

    Lead by good examples.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, good but expensive benefits, vacation time is nice. No supervisor breathing down your neck, not for me anyway. They provide tools and trucks.

    Cons

Shady managers, you feel like just a number, unnecessary goals. Managers are forced to worry about numbers on things that don't matter rather than worry about customer service.

    Advice to Management

    Happy employees are productive employees.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mobile discounts. 401k company match. Free company cellphone that U take home.

    Cons

Very stressful. You have to sell A LOT cellphone, accessories, Internet, Uverse TV, Directv, Directv Now and Mobile plans that keeps on changing, and deal with Billing problems! Commission is not enough for all the things that Rep have to do. There's monthly goal but then you need to help customers with billing problems wc take away your time from selling. Exhausting job.

    Advice to Management

Reps are frontline employees, so if upper management up to CEO have great ideas, without the execution of reps selling the great products it is as good as waste! Take care of reps because they are the hardworkers of this company. Yes more than your brightest ideas.
