I have been working at AT&T (More than a year)

    Pros

You work on your own. As long as you do good work, quality, and meet up your numbers (2 installs 2 repairs) you should be ok.

    Cons

Politics, problems with orders. Scope of work feels unreachable at times. Contract negotiations that the union leave behind that affect our work and our wage pay. Going on strike. Customers being rude. Suspensions.

    Advice to Management

    Lead by good examples.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Not going anywhere, until the upcoming anti-trust hearings to break up the monopoly over media and its distribution channels; I’m guessing in 2022.

    Cons

Standard, unimaginative US Mega-conglomerate. Att is what happens when a utility company pretends to be a Silicon Valley tech company. This cumbersome, antiquated giant buys up small agile companies with millions of financed dollars, all so they can own mediocre ideas it absorbs into their average-ness. The leaders are chasing what’s “hot” in the market instead of leading with innovation, even though internally they pat themselves on the back all the time for being so “cutting-edge.” They may be advanced when it comes to the towers, but the way the company is run is antiquated. They pretend to empower and give autonomy, but the company’s many divisions are clusters of middle-managers pretending to be productive. They buy ideas, while internally they ignore and stifle creativity.

    Pros

    there are no pros anymore

    Cons

No concern for the employee, management get no credit and are continually marginalized and abused.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on making only on the highest executives and put some care to the management professionals that have dedicate themselves for years to the company. They’re all leaving for a reason, no gratitude or respect.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The pay, and the benefits.

    Cons

How the company treats us, how easy it is to be suspended

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately there’s no advice I can give to management because they answer to their supervisors, and most of them answers to someone who is ruthless

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits, Retirement, Education Reimbursement, PTO

    Cons

No job security, constant restructuring and "surplus" layoffs. Retiree benefit cuts.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful and respectful of the veteran (read "older") employees who built the network and keep it running. The employees and our corporate memory of the wireline business are no longer valued. We are considered a burden and irrelevant. We are being laid off because we are over 50 and too expensive.
