I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

ATT is really a market leader. They have alot of hands in the cookie jar in different things. You can move around alot in the organization too if you want. Hourly rate is fine but I need a part time job to supplement the income.

    Cons

The challenge is this. It is really simple to get bored. The managers dont really have alot of variety to bring out the best in you, at least in the call center environment. The managers as a whole are OK but definitely not all professional. The colleagues make or break the environment. And with that, my manager is the worst I have ever worked with in 12 years plus and my colleagues make me want to gag daily. Again, it depends. When it is good, its good. When it is not, leave sooner than later. Do not try to make the company fit you no matter what they tell you, it is a trap.

    Advice to Management

I dont think you guys really know when or why to surplus employees like you have done over the years. Many tears have been shed behind these doors. Peoples lives have been rocked hard by some of the choices you have made over the years. Its not about the associates anymore, its about the good ol bottom dollar. I wish you would surplus me, as I am part of the good ol Union, I am so checked out from the challenges that the company has laid out. You are not good to work for now.

    I worked at AT&T full-time

    Pros

    None none none none none

    Cons

Don’t even waste your time applying for this job. I applied for a full time retail position at Seattle, was asked to do a video interview, did a lot of preparation and used almost an hour to throughly answer the questions and got a email after saying so far so good. Then the next day just randomly got a no thank you email.

    Advice to Management

Probably has no idea what is considered a good employee.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Job and benefits are good. Work is usually easy with some stress and corporate nonsense. If you can see past all the rumors and just focus on what you need to do you can learn a lot of great skills that will elevate you to a new position.

    Cons

Surplus seems to be a quarterly thing. You worry too much about your job. Clean desk policy is constantly pushed too much. Micro managing managers can kill it for you. You seem to be worthless to the higher ups.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees. Stop outsourcing jobs, retail stores and invest in the people who work their fingers and bones to the core every day.
