I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are okay, pays better than most other retail jobs.

    Cons

Too many hands stirring the same pot without knowing what the other hand is doing... Comical "one AT&T" mantra with differences in policy from store to customer care.

    Advice to Management

Be personable and give a face to the upper management rather than sending demands down the pipeline.

    I worked at AT&T full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great employee perks, great coworkers and clients.

    Cons

Insurance was to high, management pulled to many different directions.

    Advice to Management

Learn to concentrate on a few things and do them great vs to many and do them average.

    Pros

    worked with some wonderful people

    Cons

Dog eat dog corporate world. Underhanded politics, no truth in business practices.

    Advice to Management

Take a long hard look at the behavior of your directors who are taking payoffs, running like their own personal playground with no morals, truth or consequence to their actions. Payoffs are the flavor of the days.

I have been working at AT&T full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Job Security, as long as you don't majorly screw up you can work there forever with minimal output

    Cons

Working for managers whose only reason to be there is to find a way to justify getting a paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Results are more important than processes

    Pros

As the largest telecom company, there are lot's of opportunities in many different departments. Company is performing well, even in a tough economy. Other good perks for managers include free phone service in states where AT&T is the local phone carrier, as well as discounts off of DSL and TV service.

    Cons

Beurocracy is a killer. It is very demoralizing, especially in sales (particularly B2B, Enterprise). Very hard to get things done. Takes a long time to implement and bill a new wide area network. Different divisions operate as seperate "smokestacks". There is very little collaberation. Different departments must realize that the same logo appears at the top of their paychecks and need to work together to get things done.

    Advice to Management

Need less layers of management and less beurocracy. Hard to get things done at AT&T.
