I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

    Decent benefits- that’s about it

    Cons

HORRIBLE COMPANY! Constant layoffs! Management has also restricted Telecommuting. Employees used to be able to work from home all the time- now it is limited to 4 times a month. Impossible to find workspace at corporate locations- everything is “drop in” and you need to haul all your stuff into the office daily. Long hours and absolutely NO WORK LIFE BALANCE. Management...

    Advice to Management

IT employees need the flexibility you once gave us. We have ZERO WORK LIFE BALANCE. Over time, the best and brightest WILL LEAVE ATT. My coworkers and I are all just marking time. Waiting for the surplus and package- at which time we will take our talents elsewhere. ATT will be left only with the employees on the right side of the bell curve who are nowhere approaching top Talent if they don’t change the culture...

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

    Something new every day

    Cons

Racial profiling of customers. Every changing job requirements No work-life balance Constant fear of lay offs Company is transitioning to a streaming and video organization. Stores will be reduced to a fraction of current size and will go to a Starbucks type format within the coming years. Lots and Lots of layoffs as mentioned above.

    Advice to Management

Leadership from Randal to Brian should visit and have one on ones with front line leadership absent DOS and ARSMs. Work life is horrible and your responsibilities varies so much that I was advertising for the company in my area while attempting to run an understaffed location. Off-site work requirments...meaning you must find places to go sell products to outside the store spend half your time at a flea market and leave...

I worked at AT&T full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great OJT. They shape great sales people, so if nothing else use it as a stepping stone to get to something better. AT&T looks great on a resume. I got the job I have now sight unseen because of them on my resume and my sales history with them. I worked with a great team until we acquired DTV and TW and then everyone left which is below.

    Cons

    1. Company doesn't care about you at all. 2. HUGE turnover rate due to being under-appreciated or just massive cuts from higher ups for them to acquire new services and products. 3. Goals go up, commissions go down EVERY YEAR. I saw a 20k difference in my paycheck before I left. Im still close with my old team and they say it's gotten even worse since I left. 4. Somewhat unethical practices on sales floor. Cant...

    Advice to Management

Not so much store mgmt but area and above. STOP BUYING CRAP YOU CANT AFFORD. We lost many a GREAT manager to you forcing them to step down because you needed to save money to afford new stuff. When I left you were actively trying to get reps to step down to part time so you didnt have to pay benefits and could lower our pay and our ASM's were being asked to step down to reps and relocate to stores of people who wouldnt...

I have been working at AT&T full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Health insurance is by far the best I’ve ever had

    Cons

absolutely NO work life balance. Company truly doesn’t care about its employees in call centers or retail stores. You can’t even be sick and provide a doctors note, a doctors note is unacceptable. You’ve gotta do fmla just to get that absence excused; even if it’s something like a stomach bug. AT&T is truly the worst

    Advice to Management

It’s not managements fault It’s the company, show just a tiny bit of empathy and change up the rules!
