I worked at ATCO Gas Australia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are some great employees in the company with good energy and some fantastic ideas, sadly they don't stay. Glad that I haven't either.

    Cons

This is a terrible workplace full of politics, bureaucracy and hidden agendas where staff are just numbers. It is a frustrating place to work since senior management offers little direction which constantly changes and work groups within the organisation work independently of each other with little collaboration.

    Advice to Management

Senior management either need to work together more cohesively or need to communicate to their teams better. However even if management could solidify their plans and processes, disruption from the head company's own agendas is also a factor.

    "Is zero stars possible?"

    Pros

I cannot think of any pros that exist for anybody who has the misfortune to work for this terrible company. If you are reading this and have a choice take the other job and save yourself the problem. Just tried to submit and zero stars isn't possible but read it as that.

    Cons

As mentioned by others the blame culture is poisonous. It's a shame because there was some very decent people working there but you're completely stifled and if you have an idea or opinion you're shut down and treated like a child. There's a lot of employees who don't know what their doing which is worrying to say the least.

    Advice to Management

Quite simply terminate yourselves and do the company the biggest favour you possibly could. Worst case open your eyes and ears so you can see and hear what is right in front of you.

    Pros

There are some fantastic people working at ATCO, who are genuinely committed to making the company a success in Australia. The new office building is comfortable.

    Cons

There is a real blame culture permeating the workplace. Management stability is very limited, and very high turnover. The company frequently blames the personnel, not the strategy, for its limited success. ATCO also pays below its competitors and more recently has frozen salaries and not paid bonuses.

I worked at ATCO Gas Australia (More than a year)

    Pros

Some great people. Great potential. Just a pity about the management.

    Cons

The company talks about the employee and how they are a family company, but, it is all talk when it comes to the crunch. They are like every other company, bottom line, bottom line and bottom line.
Management only like 'Yes' people. If you have an opinion, don't work there. Management have poor people skills.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect, you will be surprised what you get in return.
