I worked at AVI Foodsystems Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the corporate office and it was wonderful being hourly there. I had a great department and they were very selective on who worked there. I enjoyed my time there. And we had 9 paid holidays which was great as well.

    Cons

Salary was very meager, and the vacation time was dated. 1 week after 1 year of service. They did give sick days as well. It was also tough to take unpaid time off depending on your department.

    Advice to Management

Work on creating better benefits for the employees,

    Pros

Management was always there when I needed assistance with a job issue.

    Cons

The only downside I can think of is that they only offer part-time to vending attendants.

I have been working at AVI Foodsystems Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

In my experience the hours are very flexible. I can usually adjust my schedule for any appointments I might have, and the work itself really isn't that bad. You work alone without any real supervision (except for an occasional drop in by your supervisor), and as long as you do a good job you have a job for life! I'm 56 years old and I would recommend this kind of work to anyone.

    Cons

Sometimes it's like pulling teeth trying to get a question answered because your immediate supervisor doesn't know the answer, and they are so busy most of the time it may take a while to get the answer from them.

    Advice to Management

Consider opening atleast 1 regional office. To have only 1 corporate office to cover the entire US is insane! Everything, including payroll issues (and you're messing with our money here) takes FOREVER to reconcile! Spend some of the mountain of money you are making and MAKE YOUR OPERATION MORE STREAMLINE. The work itself is not hard or difficult. The reason you lose so many employees is, you either hire any warm body to fill an opening, or you don't put in the time and /or effort to keep the good ones you might have. WAKE UP!

I have been working at AVI Foodsystems Inc. part-time

    Pros

    Independent
Depending on what location you work, you will meet some great customers and clients
    Flexible hours

    Cons

Little communication with management; communication done through group texting
Started at $10, with only a small raise after 6 months
I can only get 29 hours as a part-time employee (great for school, bad for summer)

    Advice to Management

Visit your employees; communicate communicate communicate

I worked at AVI Foodsystems Inc. part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers. It really is like being part of a family. Everyone is welcoming and open to teaching you new things if you take initiative to ask.

    Cons

Management can be indifferent (which isn't too bad) or completely ignorant to how a kitchen works.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff about how the kitchen works: we know more about how to optimize our equipment than you do.

I worked at AVI Foodsystems Inc. full-time

    Pros

Pretty good place to work, everybody was laid back and easy going and we always were prepared regardless of catering events or everyday meals.

    Cons

Not everyone would do their job and sometimes other people would have to pick up the slack.

    Advice to Management

    Prepare your employees schedule better.
