    Smart team, New leadership, still work to do

    Still a 24/7 around product releases, not so good on review and people processes

    Continue the new focus on the people, focus on fewer things at the same time, lots of churn and spinning this direction then that direction

      Pros

      Unlimited vacation time, there really is no other pro

      Cons

      Unethical C-Suite, impossible to get work done, as the systems are broken. The former CEO has ruined the company. Employees are scared. Health insurance is lousy.

      Advice to Management

      Nothing - Management is crap - the Board needs to get rid of them all.

      Fantastic opportunity to be part of the best in the industry

      Turn around management strategies weigh heavy on remaining staff.

      Advice to Management

      Disconnect occurs with staff and management, as continuous improvement requires different to go down many avenues to find that one that will work best. Staff feels like they are always playing catch up to latest management craze!

      CEO cares a lot about the company and the employees, Amazing Colleagues, Cool Products A leadership that is engaged and wants to bring about change

      Cons

      Hopefully, all of this will soon change (I have hope) Too many products not as many engineers. Quality of the product not given enough importance.

      Advice to Management

      Listen to the employees (management is already working towards it) Improve the quality of the product Listen to the customer but don't necessarily become a custom workshop for big names

      Great co workers. Amazing and innovative products.

      Cons

      Company was still trying to turn around and regain market share. This resulted in a sense of a revolving door with seasoned skilled employees leaving and replaced with cheaper younger less knowledgable workers.

      Really nice office space and awards on display

      Cons

      Board chose current nice-guy CEO after last CEO was fired for "misconduct". The new CEO has been at Avid for more than five years though and supported last CEO the entire time. He presided as the head of Sales and Marketing over the Avid's largest and most accelerated decline in sales. Rest of the the executive team (CPO, CLO) and middle-management have all been there forever and don't know how to reverse the decline....

      Hire new people outside of the industry. Older, male hardware employees dominate the culture. If you're in your 40s at Avid, you're considered young.
