I have been working at AWC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some friendly faces and benefits were competitive.

    Cons

Horrible team atmosphere and no communication within company. Upper management doesn't seem to care about anyone beneath them. Older workforce that have one foot out the door.

    Advice to Management

Value employees and keep communication open. Remember confidentiality when talking with employees.

I worked at AWC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Division I worked in a had a great team atmosphere; focused on individual success as part of group success; benefits and compensation were great

    Cons

From what I heard, other divisions had a much more "every man for himself" mentality; it is the oil and gas industry, so large lay offs happen when the market is down; manager at my division is racists, he would say something racially insensitive and no one questioned or challenged him.

    Pros

    Great arsenal of available product.

    Cons

Poor disorganized management leading to poor communications

    Advice to Management

Change needed in middle management and need to hire experienced industry sales executive for better productivity. Expand out-of-the-box thinking strategy, tactics and how to go to market. More modern market penetration plans.

I worked at AWC (More than a year)

    Pros

Somewhat competitive pay, family truly does come first, everyone is really nice, put up with no employee drama, training available

    Cons

6 months after being told company was healthy, layoffs happened, can be slow at times, none other than that, treated me well

I worked at AWC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A great place to work and develop yourself and the company.

    Cons

You would mostly work with gas and oil companies so if you could get past the feeling that you're helping to kill the planet you'll do fine.

    Advice to Management

Branch out to cater to renewable resources.

    Pros

Good pay with 8-5 hours, Monday through Friday. Pretty good bonus structure also

    Cons

Boys club, it's not what you know but more of who you know. Upper management doesn't want or like to get involved with the problems and Lower management works off favoritism and kiss ups instead of how much work you do or extra duties that you do.

    Advice to Management

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not promote from with in to management. Remember that a lot of your employees will work harder off of compliments and pat on the backs.
