I worked at AXA Equitable full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting work. Some team members are extremely competent, professional and very dedicated. Salaries and benefits are in line with market rates.

    Cons

Staff levels are inadequate for amount of work. Additional outsourcing in benefits area would be detrimental. The most cost-efficient and accurate work would be accomplished by hiring committed professionals to internal corporate positions.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at adding staff and at recognizing and rewarding long-term staff working in the benefits area in order to retain the institutional knowledge and experience possessed by long-term staff members.

I worked at AXA Equitable full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Long US history (The Equitable), global company; strong brand (at least in Europe); when times were tough, received some-what support from the holding company (in France)

    Cons

Innovative only on the paper; unable to recruit and/or retain best talents; weak brand in US (AXA); unclear career path

    Advice to Management

invest in human capital and information technologies; initiate and execute real changes, not decorations; less slogans and shows, more decisive actions

I have been working at AXA Equitable full-time

    Pros

    You get paid on time.

    Cons

Don’t expect any bells or whistles at this company. If you work here expect to work in Jersey City and not have your own desk. You have to share a desk. In addition, AXA is slow in getting with the work from home arrangement. They have a one day work from home policy (although, some departments work from home more than one day a week). Most of the employees come to work in jeans and sneakers and appear to just show up for a paycheck and do as minimal work as possible. You will not be off for Columbus Day or Veterans Day and during the summer time, they offer a summer arrangement on some Fridays where you get out "early." 3pm is their version of early. In addition, you will not find free coffee which most companies provide in their pantry. You won’t find cups, or utensils either. Senior managers seem to be out of touch with the real world and what is going on outside of AXA. That has a lot to do with the long timers at AXA. The scope survey is a joke which is the reason why employees do not feel comfortable taking the survey. AXA has an archaic old school system that still promotes people based on how long they have been with the company and less on skill set and qualifications for the job.

    Advice to Management

Get with the program and look beyond your four walls. If you want employees to be happy, productive and efficient when they come to work, provide them with their own desk. Every company wants to save money, but it should not be at the cost of devaluing your employees. Employees want to save money too and so when you relocate jobs to Jersey City, take away their desk and make them share a desk prompting them to work remotely more often than the employee should not be double taxed. Take the time to upgrade your technology. Why in the world are we still using Microsoft Outlook 2007?? It's 2015. Upon hiring and you get a laptop, shouldn't AXA provide you with a laptop bag to secure the equipment? Again, cutting costs is acceptable, but when it borders on being downright cheap you will lose great talent to the next employer who will at least provide their employees with a desk/cubicle to work and provide them with a laptop bag to carry their laptop.
