I have been working at AXA as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - opportunities for networking if you're driven
    - opportunities for learning if you are persistent and vocal about wanting stretch assignments

    Cons

    - micromanagement
    - management (even lower level management) puts no trust in workers
    - relocating everyone to Charlotte & Syracuse and away from NY Metro area
    - SO. MUCH. TURNOVER.
     - inconsistent hours and repercussions for going into overtime even when it's unavoidable

    Advice to Management

Give people space to do their jobs and the freedom to determine the work styles that work best for them. Don't pull assignments out from under people.

    Advice to Management

Provide honest communication to the staff, provide better service to your clients. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients.

    I worked at AXA full-time

    Pros

Get paid as much as you work for; a lot of people cold-calling/competing for clients on a day to day basis

    Cons

Old-school office layout, hundreds of entry level workers who think highly of themselves when all they do is cold-call from 9-5.

I have been working at AXA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good. Paid maternal/paternal leave, domestic partner health insurance, better than average PTO and flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Of late, lots of job eliminations and moving people around. Making people managers who have no business managing people. Closing locations and forcing people to post for the job they have because they're moving the office to another state. Constant change of upper management. Once we were considered people, now we're just numbers on a spreadsheet with a corresponding salary.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your staff. We are overworked to the point of seriously looking elsewhere for jobs. Some of us have been working for 30+ years and are now being shown the door. You no longer inspire loyalty. I wouldn't recommend AXA to anyone I know, whereas a year or so ago I would have. Stop promoting people who should be shown the door. Reward people for their loyal service.
