I have been working at AZZ full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work is challenging and interesting. Contributing to the upkeep of power generation facilities can give you a real sense of accomplishment and purpose. You are given the autonomy to solve issues the way you see fit.

Salary is very good and benefits (Health/Bonus) are great.

    Cons

Clients are under tremendous pressure to keep costs down. This pressure is passed along to you and givebacks simply to keep the relationship going are common.

I've had 3 bosses in twelve months. My department's management has recently been gutted and filled with non-technical individuals with little or no industry experience.

Despite being a publicly traded company with offices all over the world, the CEO feels compelled to routinely share his personal worldview with all employees via email on certain religious holidays and political milestones. The intranet site is full of ads to purchase literature with a certain religious outlook to it. Chaplains have been hired to routinely visit our location. They do not overtly proselytize, but they all come from a singular religious background.

    Advice to Management

Take the steps necessary to hire respected industry subject matter experts in leadership roles.

Working here is demanding. Help employees find time to take days off. We routinely find ourselves at the PTO ceiling with no time to take a break from work.

You risk alienating current employees and scaring off potential new hires with the overtly religious messages coming from the CEO. A international company should strive to be as inclusive as possible. Knock that stuff off.

Loyalty is a two way street.
