    Pros

    If you care about people and enjoy helping others you can start a career with all the training paid time. Advancement opportunities if you work hard and prove yourself. Taking individuals on fun outings and vacations.

    Cons

    Some co-workers are here just for a paycheck and really don't put effort and time into the individuals we care for.

    Advice to Management

    Better accountability for lazy staff and more recognition for staff who are doing a good job.

    Other staff do not take the job seriously, often will call out forcing others to pick up the slack.

    bad management, danger of overworking and being stuck

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your best employees!Recognize their contribution. What is the benefits if your employees quit and you have to retrain new staff over and over again?

    Pros

    The chance to interact and advocate for and with the clients is a once in a lifetime experience. To provide care for the clients is an amazing job to do.

    Cons

    Some challenges in this line of work is the ability to be flexible at times and sometimes the chances of seeking help from high management concerning the clients are scarce

    Pros

    Direct involvement in field, great opportunity for learning, and they provide great training courses.

    Cons

    The field can be a bit too competitive for some reason.

    Advice to Management

    Create equal opportunity jobs, and try to uplift employees more, rather than encourage competition, for it changes the work environment, especially when wages and salaries are involved.

    Pros

    Great clients, rewarding interaction and opportunity to advocate for those who have little to no say in their lives, some outstanding co-workers, excellent trainers

    Cons

    No raises, Bonuses only go to incompetent management, nepotism, unethical practices, abuse/neglect a constant with clients, client right violations, hostile environment, arrogant management, no support

    Advice to Management

    Clean house put real management in their and do whats right report the abuse and unethical practices destroying the company get back to doing whats best for the clients and then profit will generate itself naturally.

    Pros

    Work experience with behaviours among people with disabilities developing skills for use with future employment to use as transferable skills.

    Cons

    Unprofessional conduct of supervisors
    Supervisors are not accountable for misconduct which by law is illegal
    Employees must tolerate abuse from supervisors in order to continue employment

    Consistent work, rewarding very social, learn a lot , good for someone majoring in psychology or behavioral healthcare

    Cons

    Low pay no room for advancement, no upward mobility, no pay increase after initial 90 days

    Pros

    Get to work with awesome clients. Generally simple work. Very rewarding work. Paid certifications. Decent benefits available.

    Cons

    Some of the work can get frustrating and there is generally high turn around. However, that usually means hours are available le.for overtime if you want to take them.

    Advice to Management

    Clearer lines of communication with DSPs!!

    The politics. Bad supervisors. Bad corporate structure, cutting costs and hurting the company.
