    I worked at Aaron's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They do pay on time, even if it's not up to industry standards. The team I worked for was pretty good to get along with.

    Cons

Pay below industry standard. I have working in the Rent To Own industry for almost 20 years, and this by far was the worst experience I have had. Not even 1 year in and already gone through 3 district/Regional managers. They keep changing what their expectations are. The company itself has a set of standards and expectations but it seems the VPs and RMs can change those to suit themselves on a whim. One day it's about helping the customers and the next day it's about picking them up. They tell you not to harass the customers but then get pissed if you don't call them at least twice a day AND "field visit" them up to 9pm. It's retarded!!! The company isn't making enough so they force the sales team to make extremely bad decisions and lease to people that obviously cannot afford it then the accounts department has to spend the next several months chasing dead account.

    Advice to Management

Learn from people that have been in the business. Stick to one standard not that every territory and region has it's own! And for goodness sake...START PAYING YOUR PEOPLE LIKE YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM! Train them ONE way and properly coach them as they go. Quit looking for ways to chastise bit ways to help your associates grow. Remember your commitment to work/life balance...NOT work/work/work/life. If you treat your people like they mean something to your company, you will keep them. Remember, PEOPLE DON'T QUIT COMPANYS, THEY QUIT PEOPLE!!

I have been working at Aaron's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Off every Sunday, benefits, paid holidays off, great experience if you work in sales and accounts, GM position is attainable if you're willing to move.

    Cons

My first complaint is the pay. For the job you're expected to do (reposess merchandise, knock on doors, argue with customers, etc.), You get paid very little. On top of that, the raises are insultingly little, even for tenured associates. I've been an employee for 4 years, and I'm only making $1.70 more an hour than when I started. Home office is constantly trying to make your bonuses harder to achieve so they can pay you less money. If you work in a small store, earning your commission is near impossible.

Another problem is your schedule. Not only do you never get two days off in a row, giving your associates more than one day off at a time is frowned upon. Your GM and RM will try their hardest to dictate when you can use your own vacation time. An unspoken rule at Aaron's is that no one can be off on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 15th, 16th, or 17th of the month, the last day of the month, or even off the last week 9f the month. Working until 9pm every night isn't that bad, what is bad is that they expect you to knock on people's doors until 9pm.

    Advice to Management

    Treat you tenured employees better!

    I worked at Aaron's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There were no pros to this job. I ran away fast.

    Cons

Creepy bosses, nothing in the building worked, as in air conditioning, ect. Pay was aweful and it's a constant competition to undercut fellow workers. Not a happy work environment.
