    Pros

Excellent salaries, benefits and pension scheme and a culture for continuous improvement in a great facility making life changing products.

    Cons

The usual challenges of working within a global organisation and corporate ideas and strategies that don't always work particularly well at a site level.

    Advice to Management

    Keep on changing and growing

I worked at Abbott Diabetes Care full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

good pension share scheme hours ok if you like shift work

    Cons

the company has gone downhill and a lot of bad management decisions are being made because of inexperienced managers with no or little training I've seen a lot of good people pushed out of company through bad management decisions

I have been working at Abbott Diabetes Care full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nice clean surrounding and beautiful environment. Good pension and benefits.

    Cons

Nasty toxic culture. Too many friends and relatives at high position posts hence wrong people being promoted, hence Very poor callous management. Extremely unethical hence there are always problems with product quality....a few nasty character infest the whole establishment. Most of the people only there for the money, they don't care about the company or people's life. If you do care, you are ostracised or the people in charge will try and cause you problem as obviously their main objective is to protect their jobs and their friends and family working in the company. Nepotism Rules. There is a strong rascists culture in some people who are in charge. Not necessary Abbotts ethos but certain members in position of power most certainly are.

    Advice to Management

Don't be too blinkered. There are a lot of talented people who are either suppressed or driven out of the company. HR department need to be more aware of what is going on. Don't punish people who really care and reward the trouble makers.

I worked at Abbott Diabetes Care full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Modern building
    Guaranteed end of year bonus
    Good pension
    Work/life balance OK

    Cons

Cliquey. Mid-level promotions due to personality/network rather than hardwork & expertise.
Great deal employees have only ever worked at ADC, meaning they have very little outside experience to draw from. Difficult to get things changed even if systems are outdated and inefficient - I was often told "we've always done it this way" when offering solutions. Guaranteed bonus meaning hard work not rewarded. Salary poor in comparsion with other similar jobs.

    Advice to Management

Better communication. Make bonus linked to performance. Think about recruiting new blood into R&D.
