I have been working at Abbott full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Coworkers of other teams. clean place

    Cons

Quality Assurance dept: Managers are very partial. . They dont value your work, you need to be their favorite to be valued which has nothing to do with your performance. Everyday is about numbers and blame game. They will overburden you with work and then make you responsible for mistakes due to overburdening. Work is very monotonous and boring. Many people left and others are planning to leave. If you are a Biomedical Engineer, do not consider this department unless no job is available in market- there is no real engineering going on here. Any Business grad can do those work: such as taking photos and writing. They also keep on moving your cube almost every 2 months like a vagabond.

    Advice to Management

If you want to overburden people with work at least hire as permanent and give benefits instead of hiring all contractual employees and slogging them.

I worked at Abbott full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Good colleagues and co-workers.
    - Great environment to learn a lot about the healthcare industry.

    Cons

    - Consistently understaffed for internal operations, especially in Contract Operations.
    - There's currently a large salary disparity between employees from legacy (recently acquired) companies and legacy Abbott employees with no clear intent to address this discrepancy.
    - Work/life balance is lacking severely; so is employee appreciation .
    - When cost of living was brought up as a concern after an annual review, I was once told "this may not be a priority for the company".
    - Very little growth opportunities in many parts of the company.
    - Process-rich workflow with many inefficiencies.

    Advice to Management

    - Invest in the employees you have.
