    I worked at Abbott full-time

    Pros

New Leadership came from outside the pharma industry

    Cons

New leadership came from food and consumer goods industry. They had lack of understanding of the pharmaceutical business and made wrong decisions on the company's forward strategy.

    Advice to Management

Tenured employees are great assets to the company. They continuously try to improve the business to be best in class.

I have been working at Abbott full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits. Other than that Avery cutthroat and stab your colleague in the back culture. People will
Do anything to try and get ahead.

    Cons

Lack of ethics. Use clinical studies to promote sales which is illegal. When confronted about this they look the other way and threaten you. Sales reps will screw you over in a heartbeat. Absolutely no camaraderie or feeing of being a part of a team. Extremely low morale. Pay raises are minimal.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the good ol boy network and recognize actual talent and people who add value. Care about your employees and develop them.

I worked at Abbott as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company is really nice. Nice facility. Great to their employees.

    Cons

My direct manager was never present to see what was going on. She would get a story from the area Supervisor Helper, who received a one-sided story from one or two individuals. Instead of finding out what was really going on (a young man making me look bad to make himself look better). I got along with everyone else there. One or two things from just one or two people shouldn't define a person's entire character. Training materials were minimal. My 2 trainers were very friendly though. Later, other ladies I had the privilege to sit with were awesome. On my last day, the young man went so far as to delete a note on an account that I made to make it appear I didn't do my job properly. He cheats on his "times" for idoc processing. In the end I felt like I was being sabotaged. It turned out I was correct.

    Advice to Management

Be present and walk the floor once in a while. Only saw you in a few meetings or on the way to the restroom. It's hard to know what is truly going on when you are making decisions based on hearsay. The person you have doing your job, favors people who suck up. I have to admit, her being incredibly fake doesn't help either.
