I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Made many friends with co workers here, has a laid back environment, and is a fairly easy job. For part time shift all shifts are pretty set, meaning they are either 4-6 hours per day.

    Cons

Many times I've been asked to stay over my shift time which isn't usually a problem, but it has been a problem when I have had something I needed to do. Also management says they will post the final schedule on Fridays, but they still make changes to it days later and people are unaware that they added new shifts to their schedules and miss their shifts because of it.

    Advice to Management

Give out the set schedule on the date you say you will and don't add more shifts after that date without calling the employee first.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very easy job, low stress, great benefits

    Cons

Very repetitive, physically exhausting, zero growth opportunity

    Advice to Management

Stop making false promises to your employees about growth opportunity. Give recognition to your loyal hard working employees, don't just work them to the bone.

I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great discount. Great atmosphere. Easy work. Great management and upper management. Flexible schedule. Great variety of clothing to sell to people of all age groups.

    Cons

Short hours. Customers can be a bit extreme (but that's just retail). Not much else to complain about. It's easy work as long as you're not lazy.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The best parts of A&F is the friendships you make with your team and the fundamental values of training, developing and managing people. Good health benefits.

    Cons

No work/life balance. Huge disconnect between upper management and those still at store level. Too top heavy - no room for promotion. Stagnant. Pay is not competitive with other retailers.

    Advice to Management

Those in stores understand the way stores are running today better than the upper management who is pushing back. RM's and DM's have not been in stores since so many of the seriously impactful changes. Store Managers and General Managers do not respect those above them because the expectations are so different than they were 5 years ago. Th growing expectations are completely unrealistic with the drastically cut resources given to Store Managers.
