I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Benefits, Quick path to promotion, Free drinks

    Cons

Ignorant People (Overheard racist and sexist comments)
    HR does not care
    Pretends to sustainable but isn't
Pretends to be diverse and inclusive but isn't
Overworks employees (One coworker stayed till 1am and came back 8:30am)
    Does not respect creative team
CEO and Leadership is totally out of touch.
Marketing team is totally out of touch.
    Terrible work life balance.
Creative team is paid way less than the people who handle money, even though the creative team is who makes the product that earns the money.

    Advice to Management

CEOs and company leadership need to understand their employees are not as well off as them. At a quarterly meeting one of the company leaders complained of having to fly from Columbus to her house in Michigan every week.

Also they need to have a stronger sustainability and diversity initiative. They're on this whole social progress kick, but it's all BS marketing. They sold plastic cups to raise money for their sustainability initiatives and I constantly heard coworkers say things that were totally out of line. I felt constantly uncomfortable working there because of how my coworkers lack of respect and cultural insensitivity.

    Pros

co-workers - they made coming into work manageable

shallow company values, pay check went back to the company because you had to buy their clothes as uniform "policy"

I have been working at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time

    Pros

I have never seen an It organization so flat, with very little beurocracy. Everyone is approachable and very collaborative. Casual but still very professional and committed.

    Cons

Very lean organization, so there is always lots of work. They try to get 2 people's work done from everyone.

    Advice to Management

Give more honest feedback to direct reports.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great environment. Good on boarding and training provided up front. My DM was very clear about expectations and encouraging.

    Cons

Obviously as a manager there are no sick days and there's no such thing as having the weekend off.

    Advice to Management

More than 3 managers per store are needed.

I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discount on clothes--regularly 30% but AAA discount is 50%
    Some coworkers were nice
Overall really chill job--not really much to do and not really much expected of you

    Cons

Some coworkers were horrible--typical snotty Abercrombie stereotype is real
Hours were all over the place. I had my hours set at 30/week; sometimes only got 9/week, sometimes got almost 40/week.
They have this "call-in" system where you're basically on call. An hour before your shift you have to call in and see if you're needed to work or not. This makes sense for a hospital, not for a clothing retailer that's potentially near shutting its doors.
Store management was ridiculous. Manager threatened to write me up for no reason whatsoever except for the fact that I didn't agree with their opinion about a non-work-related topic.
Not much is expected of you and it's really laid back, but the boredom and slowness of the store is often unbearable.
No benefits--not that I needed any.
The music and the infamous smell of Fierce will kill you

    Advice to Management

So much to say but one thing sticks out: Get rid of the call-in system. It's ludicrous for a clothing retailer.

    Pros

Really easy, didn't have to do basically anything. The schedule was more of a suggestion than anything.

    Cons

The management told us to be mean to people, it was really weird. They would also keep the less attractive people in the back.
