I have been working at Abernathy MacGregor Group full-time

    Pros

very collaborative culture not afflicted by the usual problems of an agency. They don't hire jerks, in other words.

    Cons

A little inbred - needs to adopt more ideas from outside the firm and take modest risks. Also needs to take its own advice to clients on building its profile in the market.

I have been working at Abernathy MacGregor Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In the 3+ years I've been here, I've been exposed to really fascinating high-profile projects, including crises and M&A transactions that are on the front page of the papers. The people here are smart (for the most part), nice (for the most part) and seem to really like the work.

    Cons

Not every day is exciting. Some days, I feel like I'm trapped with boring research projects or media monitoring projects. Also, you are expected to be on call pretty much all the time. So even if you get out of the office at a reasonable time, you still have to check email constantly to see what's going on.

    Advice to Management

Give junior people more opportunities to work with different groups or offices, rather than for the same senior person every time.

I have been working at Abernathy MacGregor Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. Flexible work load
    2. Bonuses
    3. Small company, thus you have the ability to get noticed and promoted quickly
    4. They give you a blackberry (although it's more like a leash)

    Cons

    1. Absolutely no diversity
    2. You work in small groups, so if you don't get along with the team you're out of luck. Theres no opportunity for the rest of the company to see your potential or efforts.
    3. You never leave on time!
    4. You have to work ridiculous graveyard shifts and weekends sometimes (basically on call 24/7)
    5. No team-bonding or culture
    6. There are very exclusive cliques. If you're new or unlike the others you can count on being left out of the happy hours and social activities, which also means no possibility of moving up.
    7. I would go days without anyone speaking to me.

    Advice to Management

Put much more effort into diversity outreach and creating a company culture. Also, you need to recognize that employees have lives outside of the company. The work/life balance is nonexistent.
