    Pros

    The name
    The quality of the care

    Cons

    The leadership
    Biased
    Unfair
    Self interest
    HR has little say

    Advice to Management

The highest leadership is not respectful of the staff! I think they need to replace the CEO and Valarie P. Have HR conduct exit interviews. Modernize medical records. Replace known anti semetic staff. Compliance should be own staff not dual conflict role.

I worked at Abramson Center for Jewish Life full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Jewish culture is rich and the organization provides everything a Jewish resident would want and more. reasonable price health benefits and continued support the LGBT community

    Cons

Although this organization is a Jewish organization and claims diversity amongst staff and residents, it is far from it. Sadly my Jewish Colleagues openly discussed salary and I found their salary was significantly more than mine........I had 20 plus years experience compared to their 3 years

    Advice to Management

its time for change, you knw who needs to go

I worked at Abramson Center for Jewish Life full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fair market salary, generous PTO and lots to learn about Jewish culture. Employee events are fun and engaging great bonuses for long term employees annually

    Cons

No job security and high turn over rate, always an uneasy feeling of being let go for no good reason

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees and engage the board, especially with all employees

I have been working at Abramson Center for Jewish Life full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great, flexible rules- if you bring a note on the day you return after using PTO then the absence is excused- no questions. Never, ever saw that anywhere I worked. Good pay. Mutual respect among staff.

    Cons

Entitled staff- they get free transportation, great benefits ( at a low cost) and access to senior leadership with any issues, the company even subsidizes employee meals! 20 PTO days to start, and fun employee recognition events every month- there are still staff who have nothing good to say. Crazy.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing a great job honoring employees and serving patients.

    Pros

Clean facility. Pleasant living conditions for residents and family.

    Cons

Harsh, unengaged leadership, partial to inner circle of connected employees, extremely unfair and disloyal to others. Dictate decisions without understanding, which disrupt departmental functioning and destroy morale. Favored practices include security escorts for laid off employees, many of whom are dumped after long and loyal service, once annual increases make it desire able for management to replace them with new employees.

    Advice to Management

Facility needs an impartial, engaged Board of Directors to oversee the practices of CEO and her underlings, in order to insure more ethical human resources practices.

I have been working at Abramson Center for Jewish Life full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the employees are friendly towards each other and willing to help their co-workers when needed. The residents families are terrific to the workers (the aides specifically) and very involved with their loved ones life there.

    Cons

Lack of communication between management/supervisors and the staff is horrible especially when you are in the healthcare industry. Management constantly looks for reasons to write up employees excessively where it affects the employees job performance.

    Advice to Management

Total lack of communication between management, nursing, aides, etc. Making up new rules as they go along without putting it in writing and passed on to employees. Stand behind your employees and give them a chance to speak before automatically assuming their guilt. Again, communication.
