I have been working at Academy of Art University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoy my job and love my peers. I'm constantly being challenged and busy so I'm never bored. I appreciate the opportunity for continued growth. I've learned what you put into your career is what you get out of it, and my hard work has definitely been noticed. It's nice to know, that students that have a passion for Art, are the ones that excel and I'm part that, indirectly. The shuttles and locations are also a huge plus.

    Cons

The benefits are great for employee only coverage, but are a little expensive to cover dependants. That's all I can think of.

I have been working at Academy of Art University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - There are various outfits/costumes, props, etc. to choose from.
    - Comfortable/relaxed environment, very positive and friendly.
    - Great feedback is given (to improve as a model).
    - Management looks out for you and the majority of instructors are considerate.
    - Reasonable breaks after each session.
    - Great social networking (especially for artists).

    Cons

    - Can be difficult to find an outfit in my size.
    - Outfits are communal, so they're not always the cleanest.
    - Cleaning and returning items can take a while.
    - On bad days, the hours can seem long and physically-draining.
    - Some instructors work you harder than others (out of enthusiasm).
    - Taxes can really deplete your earnings.

I worked at Academy of Art University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job was cake, a lot of wonderful resources to take advantage of as well. Great chill environment.

    Cons

There often wasn't much to do, which made some people feel guilty and made others just flat out lazy.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    Doesn't require much effort

    Cons

Management has to scramble to implement random and fickle changes made by the President and there is no cohesion or love for staff. Everyone who works there looks miserable for good reason.

    Advice to Management

Focus on actual education and student/staff resources rather than pure profit.

I have been working at Academy of Art University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Love the staff, other instructors are inspiring, students are awesome and fun. I love spending time in and around the Art Academy.

    Cons

As an instructor, it's a labor of love. The pay isn't great for the amount of time and energy spent. I knew this going is, having another job to pay the bills is a necessity. Tiredness has become a constant companion, and, in the end It's worth it.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have advise, I think it's all good.

I worked at Academy of Art University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work Study is an excellent opportunity for students who qualify for this form of financial aid, and I highly recommend it. The staff and faculty of the department I worked for are wonderful and it is a joy to work with them. Great opportunities to meet and network with talented people at this campus. As a work scholar, you will do everything from office assistant tasks, poster and flyer design, art and file archiving, classroom setup, and more as the need for different tasks arises. Work hours are very flexible to your class schedule.

    Cons

Minimum SF wage, but that is the norm for any Work Study job at an AAU campus.
