I worked at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are no good reasons for a person to work at Acadia at least in the recovery division. The other side may be okay. They only care about money. I was told that my job was to sell no matter what was good for the person. They will tell people anything to get them into their higher end programs. They put down their own programs and many employees have an elitist mentality are those that work for some programs are treated way better than ones who work for what they consider "lower end" programs. They hire people with no qualifications for the positions because they are friends of other employees. Very sick system stemming from unhealthy management and only caring about $. Most employees feel stuck and just accept things as they feel powerless to change.

    Cons

See above. Met some nice people but most good quality employees leave if they have any other options. There is no oversight and corporate compliance/hr complaints are made fun of, not taken seriously by some management, and not anonymous in many cases..

    Advice to Management

Get rid of management. They have some good managers in some divisions but very few. Quit tolerating bad behavior by your "higher ups"

I worked at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good staff at local levels.
    Good entry level position
    Fast paced
    Many patients make great progress

    Cons

Company really only cares about profits.
Upper level management frequently lies or misleads staff or
Hiring freezes ,written up if you ever woek over time etc. In other words little focus on quality staff or patient care
Been bought out several times without change to culture or change to upper level management.
Ineffective and contradictory trainings. Trainers have little idea what it means to do the job.
Uppers level management sacrificing patient or staff care so they can get bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Value patient and staff care and profits will come.
If you've lost your ethics quit ! Your a healthcare company not a fast food chain.

I worked at Acadia Healthcare part-time

    Pros

My supervisor had awesome skills, and earned the respect of anyone she worked with, making her a great boss to have while working with this company.

    Cons

The company did not have the finances to pay employees, always cutting hours.

    Pros

If you don't care about being short staffed, having a manager that yells at you and an Hr deportment that won't support you, belmont /acadia is for you.

    Cons

Screaming managers, no support, poor staffing, no tuition reimbursement, management's lack of concern for the patient/consumer.

    Advice to Management

You have created such a bad work environment that most of your best employees have left and been replaced by new grads with little training provided. Why? Wouldn't it be better if you were the role model for company takeovers. The employees you screw have family members and friends that might need help. I for one will tell my circle of people I know to go anywhere other than belmont for either treatment or employment. Think about that.

I have been working at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The patients, staff/coworkers and flexible hours.

    Cons

They care about money over patients. Staffing ratios are ridiculous and jeopardize patient safety and quality of care. Seems to be too many layers of management and not enough clinicians. Acadia will not even invest in an EMR for its facilities and we rely on an antiquated dictation system and paper charting which is cumbersome and fosters poor communications between departments. There is a high turn over rate . Benefits are expensive and they do not invest in a 401k plan although I am sure corporate is securing their retirement well with generous bonuses amongst themselves.

    Advice to Management

Patient safety first! Invest in a good EMR and support your clinicians. Fire yourselves and replace with nurses who understand how to run a facility.

    Pros

Wonderful inspiring professional colleagues who work hard and believe in what they do.

    Cons

Unsafe staffing: 1) One RN to twenty-four (24) patients. 2) One Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to twelve high level acutely psychotic and potentially dangerous patients. 3) Behavioral Health Technicians hired off the street with no formal training or transferred from the kitchen with no other professional skills other than prepping salads or serving meals.

    Advice to Management

Find another line of work where the bottom line may as well be the mission statement.
