I have been working at Acadia Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

some really great people at work sites

    Cons

no one cares about the patients or staff at the front line. It is all about money for the top

    Advice to Management

Stop sucking the life, heart and soul out of the patient's and the staff who work directly with the patient's just to line pockets of higher ups. Care about the real people who really make it all work

I worked at Acadia Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Opportunity to hone SalesForce skill set

    Cons

Work life balance is not good. You will be asked to work seven days per week to get the job done and there is no overtime or comp time available. Your manager will report that you worked forty hours that week in order to stay within the budget.

    Advice to Management

    Best of luck.

I worked at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Only 1: I liked some of my coworkers

    Cons

Long hours, unachievable goal expectation, micro management by CEO, zero regard for employee OR patient safety; employees, under such immense corporate pressure, resort to cutting corners on safety in order to meet expectations; supervisors threaten employees' job security in order to do whatever they wish; money hungry CEO does not care about the wellbeing of employees or patients - he has watched employees be attacked by patients and has walked away; unprofessional work environment; breaks many laws for financial gain (i.e. Cherry picking patients to accept from hospitals based on insurance plan).

I have been working at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

co workers are friendly and supportive
while patients can be very tough due to the population I love getting to help them become more knowledgeable and self sufficient
PTO, vacation, sick time etc is pretty good

    Cons

    dismal and dingy
    no appreciation
no chance of raise or bonus deserved pay is terrible
    work hard get less
understaffed and open positions go unfilled months
balance of workload is very uneven, some hang around for lunches for an hour some cant take a lunch at all and have to punch out and work through it

    Advice to Management

visit all your sites and stay for the week. see what really happens day to day, look at the details and see who's doing what at your locations and reward the people that deserve it

I have been working at Acadia Healthcare part-time

    Pros

The patients are great and make going to work worthwhile. The staff are very friendly and caring people.

    Cons

The employees are overworked and asked to do more than is possible at times. Often asked to do things you are not trained to do.

    Advice to Management

Try to see the patients and employees as human biengs and not statistics.

I have been working at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Its an opportunity to learn skills in the substance abuse, and mental health field. Good camaraderie with your co-workers stuck in the trenches with you.

    Cons

Acadia doesn't seem to mind you working severely understaffed. Forbidden to do overtime to catch up. Have to severely multitask. There is no credit in your used up work hours for some of the extra tasks that have to get done. Raises are minimal. Benefits expensive but solid. Patient complaints should never stay at a small clinic. Patient complaints should get air by someone impartial outside a small clinic. Patient care is put at risk by poor patient complaint process. Acadia is too big. Corporate is distant. Company is about bean counter reports looking good. Quality patient care is secondary. Not the kind of organization for long term employment unless you can get a corporate position (unlikely).

    Advice to Management

You need to invest more of your money in improving quality care for our patients. Under staffing these clinics and organizations goes against all sound judgement for healthcare organizations. Why do you take over these organizations if you won't staff them right?

I have been working at Acadia Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers and people that truly care for patients on the ground level, not necessarily in upper management

    Cons

low pay, minimal vacation and sick time, minimal benefits package, no perks or employee retention which creates high employee turn over.

    Advice to Management

show your employees that you care about them instead of making us feel as though we are all replaceable. It seems the only people that the only people benefiting from the counselor's hard work are the higher ups because I know we're not seeing any money or benefits of working for this company. My biggest concern right now is that for us in the North East (not in TN), when there is SEVERE weather, travel bans, etc due to snow storms/blizzards, employees are still expected to use personal time EVEN IF the facility is closed with no option to work.
