I worked at Acapulco/EL Torito Restaurants full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very fast paced environment. Cultural. Festive.

    Cons

They cared about labor percentages that impacted the guest experience and ultimately would result in a negative experience.

    I worked at Acapulco/EL Torito Restaurants part-time

    Pros

The work was not too hard, but there wasn't too many things to say that were good about the job

    Cons

Did not change employees schedules until they saw you couldn't work, so you'd have to not show up to work at the times you said you couldnt. Manager kept big parties tabs open for entire bar, scheduling was unorganized, may be scheduled for two different titles at once(busser &host). Did not separate tips well, bussers would keep money that was meant to be split.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers that actually care about the employees and figure out something to do about the way you treat customers.

    Pros

El Torito is a very pretty restaurant with nice Coworkers.

    Cons

But it is pretty slow paced unless they are under staffed, it's not very busy either.

    Pros

Flexible schedule, other employees are friendly and get along well for the most part,

    Cons

Shifts are really short, typically 2-3 hours, management is always changing, people aren't trained properly, the whole place is a mess, schedule comes out one day before the week starts

    Advice to Management

management needs to learn to work better together because they always have conflicting views and are telling employees different things

    Pros

Robert Winters. He's the best - everyone else is horrible.

    Cons

    It's a giant mess. Don't get involved.

    Advice to Management

Close up shop while you can get a nickel for this thing.

I have been working at Acapulco/EL Torito Restaurants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is absolutely nothing positive to say about this company. They are so completely desperate to fill positions because most people will not work there that they will simply lie to you in oder to fill vacancies.

    Cons

This company blatantly turns a blind eye to their illegal hiring practices. They knowingly have literally thousands of illegal aliens on their payroll, but do not do anything to thoroughly check their employment status because, again, they are desperate to fill positions.

    Advice to Management

Stop the illegal employment of migrant workers by actually checking resident status.

    Pros

    Flexible scheduling
    Great employees
    75% off food

    Cons

Bad tips because kitchen takes too long
    Food is consistently bad

    Advice to Management

Don't hide in the office when things get bad on the floor.

    Pros

$100 a month load in a meal card at real mex restaurants.

    Cons

Long hours 12 or more a day. Labor budget un realistic. Want to bring people on rush hours for just two hours.
    Open 365 days a years.

    Advice to Management

With out labor it's imposible to maintain. High satisfaction per guest.

    Pros

    Some nice people work there.

    Cons

Manager told me that if I accepted a hostess position, I would get trained as a server. Turns out they were just in desperate need of hostesses (nobody else wanted the job). After a few months, I quit for a better paying job.

A few people there had bad attitudes (some of the cooks, servers, and a manager), and yelled a lot.

The schedule was made at the last minute, so I never knew when I would be working.
