I worked at AccentCare part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was great working hands on with patients. Also, it was always very easy to contact Accentcare

    Cons

I told the company of my availability but they seemed to disregard this and constantly were trying to schedule me for shifts out of my availability. It was also annoying that they would sometimes double book employees so we would drive to a location and be sent home because someone else was there already.

    Advice to Management

I think the inner office communication needs to be worked on. If someone is scheduled for a shift then there should be a better system to inform all other employees that this person is scheduled as well as availability changes.

I worked at AccentCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great clinical team in the field who makes it happen for the company...they turn the referrals to admissions then provide the care. Most truly love what they do which is why they have not left.

    Cons

Mid/ upper level management is rewarded for the success made by the front line team. No bonus structure for those who bear the traffic, weather, irrate families , non compliant patients and unfriendly pets. . Decisions are made that directly affect front line staff without involving front line staff. They draw a hard line in the sand regarding their hourly or per visit pay, but let someone in upper management try to leave...then they suddenly find money to keep them on.

    Advice to Management

Extend your ongoing bonus/reward plan to the staff who makes it happen...the field staff. Train managers to be managers as soon as they get in the position. Industry-experienced staff don't always make good leaders who know how to connect with people. Invest heavily in learning and development. There are no shortcuts for this. If you don't, you will pay later in a negative way. This is one area where you staff the least...along with the quality team. Contribute to 401K. You are losing staff for that reason alone. Take more risk on your staff .....other competitors are willing to.
