I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health insurance, independence, good atmosphere, decent management, good location, decent building, I like that I can work remote if needed

    Cons

Training could be better structured, right now it is relying on training videos as opposed to classroom or shadow training, pay is low in comparison

    Advice to Management

    Better pay will reduce turnover

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Accenture is the only company I've ever worked for that states, straight out, that your network determines your success. It's who you know. And they do more than just tell you, they create and fund network events so you can meet, greet and gain insight from peers and leadership.

They are a world-wide, multi-national company. I have worked with people on almost every continent. They have clients in every sector of business to suite your tastes and interests. They pursue the latest technology and reward hard workers dedicated to the business.

    Cons

If you are a developer, your skills will be undervalued. Programming is something that is outsourced to low-cost places like India, Philippines, Brazil, etc., so programmers in the U.S. are considered expensive. The career track for developers has them becoming analysts and managers if they want to continue getting promoted and getting large raises. Once above a certain level, you cannot be a programmer. Accenture specializes in cookie-cutter implementations and systems integrations. If you want to code and be loved for coding, look somewhere else.

Also, a few years back, Accenture talked a lot about work/life balance. Now it's WORK/life balance. Technically still on a scale, but it is tilted almost completely to the work side these days. And taking PTO is subtly (or not so subtly) discouraged.

I don't hate Accenture, I just want developers to know what they're getting into.

    Advice to Management

None. Accenture is being exactly what it wants to be. It is incredibly successful doing that.

    Pros

Many extracurriculars and internal groups to get involved with; great people; internal learning opportunities

    Cons

No option to contribute to a graduate degree; people; common to see 10-20% of the employees carrying the workload and have a higher risk of being punished by HR or Legal

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Accenture full-time

    Pros

    - decent pay
    - global presence with an opportunity to travel

    Cons

    - lots of internal technology issues
    - inadequate hardware (not a great laptop provided)
    - unknown metrics to get annual bonus
    - given too many projects at once
    - different expectations for acquired members versus accenture direct hires
    - expensive health benefit options

    Advice to Management

    - listen to feedback and take obvious steps for improvement instead of asking for feedback and not doing anything with it

    I worked at Accenture full-time

    Pros

Career growth, team work, promotion, training

    Cons

Lack of management involvement when necessary to retain good employees, HR is rude and do not care for employees, leaning more towards client satisfaction.

I worked at Accenture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Valuable work experience and opportunities that you would not get in many other companies
    - Unparalleled growth opportunities
    - High-caliber people

    Cons

    - A company of Accenture's size has a lot of policies and there are a tone of headaches that come with it. I liked my actual job but hated having to work within all their red tape.
    - No accountability for your senior managers. If you start a career at Accenture everything you do is subject to the luck of the draw. Some projects are awesome, others are terrible and there is no effective way to weed out bad leadership at projects.
    - You will work crazy hours and there is a chance that you won't be recognized for your hard work. Worst of all, the way performance reviews are handled, you won't find out for months and months. This is particularly frustrating since people are only working to move up the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Boy, where to start? I think the bottom line is Accenture has gone from looking at their employees as assets to viewing them as resources. And it shows in a big way.
