I worked at Accenture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    PTO, benefits are just okay.

    Cons

Management is a joke, the site leader has no mortgage background or experience and seems to be clueless. They keep making promises about new contracts which never materialize. Layoffs happen and former employees can't even collect personal items from their desk. This is a terrible company and anyone with a mortgage background will want to run in the opposite direction if they come calling.

    Advice to Management

Fire upper management and hire experienced, intelligent professionals who know the difference between a production environment and a sweatshop.

I worked at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very thorough training program so no prior experience is needed - you learn the ins and outs of the mortgage industry in six weeks. When you actually start working, your responsibility increases slowly so you're not overwhelmed. Most managers are very helpful. Accenture prefers to hire internally, so mobility within the company is attainable and highly encouraged.

    Cons

The site isn't up front with what the actual job will be - no one knew what work we'd be getting into until we actually started doing the job. The training program dragged on for three months, and most of it was irrelevant once we started to work. Mortgage analysts are in high demand right now due to a high demand for mortgages. Instead of managing this demand, management overloaded the entire site, and they failed to deliver on their promise that the workload would even out. The result: a 50% turnover rate within the first year for new hires.

    Advice to Management

Cut the training program down to three weeks to save yourself money and decrease chances of attrition. Set realistic expectations as to what the job will entail and advise new hires that overtime will likely be required in order to meet monthly goals. Don't make promises about future workloads that you can't keep.
