I worked at Accenture full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Comprehensive and generous benefits, mostly professional co-workers, ethical framework, great leadership.

    Cons

As with any large organization, work/life balance was sometimes difficult to achieve.

    Advice to Management

Remain true to the core values. This is what makes the company great.

    - Awesome Stock options
    - Enjoy working with smart people

    Cons

    - Working remotely doesn't come around often
    - usually stuck to the 40hour work week and traveling.

    Advice to Management

    - Open up the ability to work remotely. this is the biggest issue i've seen so far.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will work like a race horse. You will learn a lot. You will be trained pretty well. All of these things will benefit you as an employee, whether with Accenture or not. Fringe benefits are pretty good, although since the economy has turned around the last handful of years, more and more companies are becoming competitive with what Accenture offers; you get the typical "fortune 500 company" benefits package.

    Cons

If you are in the consulting workforce, this doesn't apply to you - the base salary pay is deplorable; the yearly raises don't even meet inflation rates. Bonuses are just as bad lately, and are not based on this principle of "meritocracy" like Accenture preaches.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice for management, because Accenture is a monster and the gears will keep turning no matter what.

    Pros

Pretty good company. You get early reviews and have strong chance of promotion and good bonus. Lots of clients and the stock is doing well.

    Cons

Work hours is based on project. My project is crazy and there is a lot of work to do. This leads to work life imbalance.

    Advice to Management

The management that I work under are excellent. I have nothing to complain about. Lots of freedom and no micro management.

    Pros

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You have the flexibility to do a wide range of different roles, and you are compensated well for it. Good managers will really help drive your career and open up opportunities.

    Cons

Sometimes you get crap projects with bad managers (not the norm, but it happens). Staffing is broken where only networking will get you staffed and it is never local.

    Advice to Management

Experienced hires should undergo some kind of skills test. So often, they can't use basic Microsoft tools.
