I have been working at Accenture full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Accenture works in so many areas using so many different technologies, and so the opportunities for learning are endless.

    Cons

Can't say anything negative about Accenture

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work environment - telecommuting highly encouraged.
Good community involvement - mentoring for underprivileged teens, habitat for humanity, etc.
Work-Life balance is a corporate priority.
Customer-facing roles offer great opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

If you are not customer-facing, there is limited upward mobility. The corporate services part of the company is very static. You have the opportunity to move up when someone above you leaves.
The company employs almost 400,000 people, however, 95% of that is off shore.

    Advice to Management

Make everyone report the hours actually worked and hold managers accountable for excess hours. Don't ask people to report 40 hour weeks if they're really working 50-60 hours.

I worked at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Plenty of client opportunities if you have the experience (especially if you're near a major metro region)
    - Fair amount of flexibility if your manager is understanding, which is often the case
    - Great name recognition, great culture
    - Training opportunities

    Cons

-Even with their regional initiative, the commute is often still incredibly long, as their regions are very large
    - Mediocre pay, at least for a software dev position
    - Not much regard to work-life balance
    - If you are entry level or have relatively little experience, quantities of opportunities are very limited, in addition, a lot of the training, at least when I trained, seems to try to corral people into software dev even if that wasn't directly their background/career goals.
    - At least in my case, the team I was placed in was so streamlined that there often wasn't enough redundancy in case issues occurred.

    Advice to Management

None really, changes are being made so hopefully they're for the better.

I have been working at Accenture full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great working conditions, very nice professional people, very exciting work

    Cons

Living in virtual poverty is a huge hindrance. I struggled so much to survive on less than $50,000/year in Boston, that it interferes with my job performance, and prevents me from getting promotions. This causes a negative feedback loop that makes life outside the office miserable, and virtually unbearable. I need to do innovative things like not pay my phone bill, sleep in homeless shelters, and take excruciatingly long-distance bus trips to save money for travel.

    Advice to Management

Be fair in salaries. I've met software testers who make over $70000 and this is there first job out of college, and they are merely testing the software that I develop. Test drivers don't make more than automobile engineers, and software testers should not make 10s of thousands more dollars than software developers, in my opinion.

    Pros

They have the resources of a huge company

    Cons

They are used to deal with workers from Mexico, India, etc. They will definitely try to pay as little as possible

    Advice to Management

Quit the dumb performance reviews that have nothing to do with actual performance. If

I worked at Accenture (More than a year)

    Pros

Accenture Management was extremely welcoming to me. I was a new mom when I worked for them and they were accommodating to all of my needs. When they hired me, they gave me a long overdue raise and title change. They are so accepting of all different types of diversity. I will always think of them fondly and would work for them again.

    Cons

Unfortunately, they did not have a lot of local clients besides the one I was working at.

    Advice to Management

Please keep up everything you do to provide your employees a great work life balance and all of the special events and activities to keep morale high!

    Pros

Great environment to learn and grow. Excellent opportunities across skillsets and industries.

    Cons

Separation of Federal and Private Industry work forces (this is happening at all the firms).

    Advice to Management

Be open to offering opportunities and training to non-target markets

hey have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

    Cons

At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines.
