I have been working at Acceptance Now full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy the benefits most. You get a TON of benefits. The employee discount is solid- you have to know how to do it. Health insurance is solid. It cost me $25 a week, $500 deductible.

    Cons

The major downside of the job is work/life balance. To be good, you must be dedicated. That is the price you pay though with any good job.

    Advice to Management

    Allow more PTO

I worked at Acceptance Now full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Super Easy
Semi Flexible scheduling as a CSR
Great training, but that only recently started and ended just as fast as it started.
My boss was a great help and was willing to teach anything for advancement

    Cons

Hours are long, 2-3 days of the week you're open to close 10a-9p
The job is mind numbingly easy
Some of the management is really strict for no reason
Really boring, too much down time

I worked at Acceptance Now full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's fair pay for the level of experience required for the job. The office size is small, and I never felt like we were micro-managed. How much you enjoy this job will be dependent on the district manager. We had a great one.

    Cons

The hours can be long. In some locations, I was working 9am-9:30pm. Your shift is dependent on the client store's hours of operations. Your employer (Rent-A-Center) will make it very clear to you that their relationship with the client is more important than their relationship with you.

Customers can be very confrontational. You'll be threatened with violence at least a few times while working collections, and the person threatening you will a) know where you are, and b) have physical access to your location. Think about how comfortable you are with that before taking this job. It's all about defusing these types of situations. You'll work with some folks who only want to escalate such situations.

    Cons

Upper management gives unrealistic goals, company isn’t willing to release people who should be terminated.

    Advice to Management

Not all workers are good workers, and the good ones should be rewarded for picking up the slack.

    Pros

Relationship you build with your staff and host store members. Memories you make with your customers and continue to build off that is what makes a store enjoyable environment to be in.

    Cons

Constantly changing processes no belief in protection of employees from their bad business decisions. False hope of promoting from within.

    Advice to Management

Stick to the basics, treat people fair and be honest with them you will get better results and happier employees and not lose good employees to stupid decisions because they want feel the unnecessary pressure to have to prove DM Joe Smoe that they are the absolute best of the best there numbers will do that for them and the only way that there numbers will be inline is if they are taking care of the customer and the customer feels comfortable with them then and only then will there number fall in place. We always have to remember we cannot make a customer pay we are always asking them to continue paying due to the fact they like us and the product they selected
