I worked at Accion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Generally friendly staff
    Generous with some benefits
    Diversity of work tasks

    Cons

Extremely poor communication from upper management
Unrealistic expectations from CEO, who expects staff to drop everything for last-minute requests
Employees are not all treated equally

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff as you would like to be treated. Yelling at staff, blaming them for your mistakes (particularly failing to plan ahead for big events), and expecting people to go above and beyond with such stark pay disparity within the organization creates a culture of resentment and distrust.

    Advice to Management

Keep your eye on the prize.

    Pros

Smart friendly coworkers who are passionate about what they do. Micro finance is a great space to be in too.

    Cons

Bureaucracy and lack of growth for junior employees. Growth and compensation are also pretty uneven. Good for a few years.
