I have been working at Accolade for more than a year

    Pros

Company allows employees to have a more flexible schedule with the ability to work from home if needed Everyone is very friendly and helpful You won't be bashed if you don't understand a concept, instead the team will work with you to help you understand it Uses Agile/Scrum Uses a modern, constantly evolving technology stack Management is very transparent about operations, all employees seem to always... know what's going on with the company

    Cons

Company is experiencing some growing pains, especially with their technology development, certain processes have little to no documentation which makes it difficult for newer or less experienced employees Accolade uses some vendors that hinder the developer experience more than help it Some vital team members are located in Prague, so their workday ends right when Seattle's begins, making cross team... collaboration difficult

I have been working at Accolade full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pay is decent for a registered nurse. Health care benefits- mediocre.

    Cons

In the interview, they fail to you that it’s basically a month long interview process and employment isn’t guaranteed. If you can, try not to quit your other job until you make it through training. Again, if hired, no guarantee of employment as they fire 50-75% of training groups. Also, because some states are “at will states” they can fire you for whatever reason they want. Not being able to work from home as much.... Not enough employees to take on the several clients they keep signing on. Very poor retention. PTO at 19 days including sick time. Call center environment- being screamed at for bills and claims issues as a RN. Cold calling to sell your services Audits on calls- sometimes feedback given to fix isn’t current or accurate Technology platform- horrendous glitches Nursing platform- outdated and slow, supposed to be switching but timeline never given Change within company- excessive

    Advice to Management

Offer opportunities to work from home, your culture will not be affected poorly by this, but probably be enhanced only because you might keep employees this way, or even offer different schedules and shift times. Most nurses like the longer shift times with more days off. Scheduling appointments is near impossible around work times and no I do not want to use my little vacation time for it. Separate sick time and... vacation times. It’s great that you have these huge companies wanting to buy in, but hire more people to be able to accommodate them. Having the nurses take the claims, billing, and benefits calls has no clinical value at all, nurses lose their skills because of calls like this. If it’s necessary that we do take calls like this because there is not enough staff, some sort of incentive needs to be given as we are taking on several roles. We are not salesman, nor are we billing specialists. Be transparent in the interviews. Be sensitive to the fact that most people quit their jobs to come work for your company and getting rid of them 2-4 weeks out without giving them any time to try to implement the feedback is wrong and unjust.

    Pros

Free Coffee, Water, Lunch sometimes, Gym in the building, Work from home.

    Cons

They do not identify as a call center but thats exactly what they are. They keep adding new metrics and offer less flexibility for a work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and their situations.

"Pushed their seasoned employees out to hire for lower salaries"

I worked at Accolade full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Work from home The first 5 years, there was a nice merit increase and bonus

    Cons

When hit with financial hardship, high level management turned their backs on their employees and let us all suffer for no legitimate reason other than our salaries. Once top performing employees were all of a sudden stripped of their titles and demoted for unfair reasons. Corporate deceit was impossible to show and they continue to get away with it. Despicable, unethical, practices that no one can really prove sums... up my previous mgmt. team.

I worked at Accolade full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Work from home, nothing else.

    Cons

Leadership is clueless, and comes to under qualified. They micro manage. . They base your bonus off of personal opinions and not actually your work ethic. This is a bonafide call center, and they hound you to get in the queue while your taking personal time or working on other things. They also lied about certain things during the interview, and they are that great with dealing with other races. They need to revamp... overall, and really watch how they treat employees.

Please find stewards who know how to handle different personalities, and also cut out the culture cornerstone crap. All your doing is encouraging personal vendetta type behavior.

    Pros

Work from home Pay isn’t bad but it’s gone down

    Cons

Micromanaged. You meet every other week to get a list of things you should be doing better. They literally check the time you’re away from your desk to go to the bathroom Too many metrics. They make them out of reach and it’s all they talk about Medical benefits used to be amazing. They took back over $2000 a year towards health benefits

I have been working at Accolade full-time

    Pros

Decent pay. Okay first job. Very lax dress code. Okay medical.

    Cons

Company is 10 years old and still not profitable—does not feel secure. High turnover. You spend all day doing overwhelming emotional labor—being verbally abused by people panicking about financial and medical problems. Terrible behavioral health benefits, to boot. Leadership frequently dismiss feedback from lower level employees. Work from home benefits mentioned at interview still frozen months later for no... discernible reason. PTO system is bizarre and you’re expected to work holiday eves. Briefly hyped up a “diversity” initiative but let that fall by the wayside. Never really provide a clear answer to any questions about the confusing changes being made to polices almost monthly. “Startup culture” ten years in.

    Pros

The coworkers are great for the most part. You will learn a lot of life skills. They have fun activities and celebrate diversity.

    Cons

This job is a call center job. They try to make it seem as something to contrary. They have a metric system, which isn't very accurate at all. They promote a flexible work-life balance and it is not at all flexible. Also, they promised work from home and as soon as people were hired they took it away; which a lot of people took the job due to this promise. Keep in mind that being hired does not guarantee a job. You... have a couple weeks of training to go through and they cut a lot of people during it.

I worked at Accolade full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Historically Accolade attracted incredible talent and amazing people (sadly they have moved in a different direction and it's merely a matter of time before they can no longer stand on there good reputation) the benefits are good and the salaries are reasonable at the staff level.

    Cons

Accolade provides telephonic nursing services to all states however do not ask or encourage that the nurses be licensed in non compact states. California requires a nurse be licensed in California to do telephonic services and the Arizona Board of Nursing States the same thing yet Accolade continues to ignore this after being told for several years by their nurses that they are jeopardizing their staff. Management... regularly makes less than their staff and have minimal opportunities for growth. There seems to be a firing Frenzy that is manifested in forced resignation and it is rumored they are forced into signing documents that they will not post negatively on social media. Over 75% of the staff nurse workload is actually doing claims benefits and non nursing care. It is no longer about the client relationship it is about metrics and money so just another call center. Work from home is pretty much a thing of the past and the company has extended their hours later and later I to the evening and expect staff to be ok with that. In 2014 they we're open until 8:30 est but now it's 11est. the Arizona has almost no experience nurses and currently brand new nurses are training other new nurses. there is no 90-day probationary. Instead you start in training and if you can't meet their needs within a few weeks you are let go with nothing, so accepting a position is an exteme financial risk. If you consider this company please do your homework and research the telefonic nursing laws. There was a time when Accolade was amazing but it is no longer that company.
