I worked at Accountemps part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Always offering work. I was offered a job within a day of being with the company. Even when I quit to move out of state, I was contacted twice the next day with other schedulers who had not known yet that I had left.
    - It's a great resume booster because you are using and learning many skills.
    - Very flexible with scheduling. If you have to turn down a job here and there, there are plenty of people to take the job after you.
    - Great for college students with a flexible schedule. If you only have class in the evenings or a few days a week this works out really well.
    - You do not need a ton of accounting experience. I only had a little from college but they match you with people that can use you. Most of what I did was clerical but IN a finance office.

    Cons

    - Not really a con but just remember to respond quickly to an offer! If you don't respond soon enough, it will go to someone else.

I have been working at Accountemps part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I am a temporary bookkeeper, looking to gain experience and exposure. There are plenty of jobs to choose from, lots of variety, easy to keep busy and the staff is friendly and responsive.

    Cons

As a temp, they are not one hundred percent focused on your individual career goals, but that is not the objective when temping. I haven't worked with their perm department.

I worked at Accountemps as a contractor (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Usually has plenty of assignments, very easy to deal with.

    Cons

No notice on some assignments, usually just a few days from the initial phone call.but that's the way of the business.

    Advice to Management

If you call a person to tell them about a position, kindly followup in a few days to give status of whether client likes them or not.

    Pros

They do try to keep you working.

    Cons

Won't have a paid holiday for quite some time! They don't ask you how things are going while you are on a job, but they do ask the employer. This makes it seem they care more about the employer than the people they place in positions.

    Pros

Variety of positions, guaranteed employment, no unpaid down time, Very supportive staff

    Cons

Since "con" is required: some issues in getting expenses reimbursed, but they were procedural issues rather than unwillingness to reimburse.
